From eastern approcah. Minor road off B 842, turn past hoise with lots of ariels ( spelling ?) parked sround 641 138. Walked soith on road to get onto farm track to Glennanty ( abandoned ) Gartnacopaig ( project house ?) , continued on track until close ish to Largiebaan where i encountered horses ( friendly curious ) and cows ( not comfortable with curious cows ). A ross b w fence and plod upwards. Was in the cloud. Small locahn at summit. Returned in similar fashion.VerySlowPlodder19/03/2024
From minor road to ESE, along forest track past Gartnacopaig, then at bend headed up trying to pick up animal tracks where possible. On to The Slate, but way back was hindered by felled area, which meant longer forest track was easiest way back to car.PeterD11/06/2023
3rd hill of 9 on a 31km circuit from parking South of High Lossit on the Kintyre way, continuing from Creag nan Cuilean heading along forest edge then curcing round to descend just East of 224m spot then climbing Ssw to reach fenceline at 415m elevation and from there to the top. After a coffee break and snack on a rock South of the Trig pillar, I continued to Dun Ban...Dazingdale18/05/2023
Parked just up into a forestry road (NR 6505 1380). Walked ~560m SW along road to pick up track out to Gleahanty. Continued on ~850m past Gartnacopaig before breaking NW up to here. On to Creag nan Cuilean, The Slate and picking up Achnaslishaig Hill on the return for a good 13.3km round.jonglew17/05/2023
1 of 3: Walked from Machrihanish campsite. Along the Kintyre Way then across rough ground. With Karen.ChrisR26/07/2022
As others from enclosed Ballygrogan car park. Same route as Gill. However lost the useful part of my GPS somewhere between 750m and 500m from the summit of Cnoc Moy in the heathery stuff I think. So if anyone finds it let me know, but I think in all that Heather it's probably lost for ever. 8 miles 3hrs 44mins walking time per Garmin, though some of that time was looking for my GPS.JulieB22/04/2022
Cycled/walked to Ballygroggan parking (NR624191), then along Kintyre Way to about NR611166, then SE to the 224m spot height in the col, thence straight up soft and rushy slopes of Cnoc Moy to summit, descended to 224m spot then up and along Creag nan Cuilean mostly on a fine old ATV track over its summit, then following the forest boundary fence E to the corner, through forest and up to the deep peat hags of The Slate summit (not obvious which is the highest), W back through forest, down slopes to Craigaig Water (some very difficult deep heather and bracken) and followed it back to Kintyre Way, then to Ballygroggankdbennett24/07/2021
Afternoon, hot and sunny topped off with mist rolling in. From ear along track past Gartnacopaig onto The SlateN.Morters17/07/2021

#651 - As others, down the Kintyre way from the car park (62481912), then just horrible!tim74730/10/2018
From the enclosed car park at Ballygroggan. Walked the Kintyre way south until the path starts to drop at 612167. Then headed up over rough, uncompromising terrain. Not pleasant at all. Great views from the summit. Headed to The Slate.bolton12/09/2018
Followed Gill's route, it gives a good start to the ascent.Chris Peart30/06/2018
From the car park at Ballygroggan. Along the Kintyre Way, across the end of Craig nan Cuilean, across bogs and thrash up Cnoc Moy through a wide variety of spongy bog vegetables. Back down, then positively flew up Craig nan Cuilean on a dry ATV track. This died a death amongst the peat hags and bogs, but there's a deer track along the fence. Over the fence and up an overgrown fire break getting better towards the top. The Slate summit is a collection of peat hags. Down above the Craigag water, joining a fine ATV track back to the Kintyre way.Gill14/05/2018

Left car at 644136, follow track to and beyond Gartnacopaig then easily ascended SSE face. Mist cleared the summit in time for my arrival. Continued into rougher terrain to The Slate.Topographer5705/11/2011
From minor road to SE via forest farm track with Alison Fox, Bob Taylor and Richard Spiers. Sunny initially then cloudy on top with rain on way back to car.Dugswell227/08/2011
