Weather forecast suggested today would be free of rain so took the opportunity to bag a couple of hills and see the Antonine wall. Parked at Croy station - Croy hill, Castle hill, Heronry hill and Gartshore bing. Train from Lenzie back to Croy. Found a slightly easier way down from this one as the direct route to the top was a little steep! | Buck | 08/04/2024 |

After Croy hill. Followed track to near top and clambered up to the top from there. Must be a good view on a nice day. | colazione | 12/03/2023 |

Roadside parking, just east of the car wash (NS 7237 7610). Up onto Croy Hill first, then across to here. Nice scrambly woodled ascent on leaving the path. | jonglew | 05/02/2023 |
Croy-Castle Hill-Bar Hill trig pillar-Twechar-Court Hill-Croy. After visiting the nearby trig summit in 2007, made it back today to bag the actual summit (hopefully) to recomplete E Dunbartonshire tumps. | campagvelocet | 30/01/2023 |

Parked at Twechar and walked along the path to the rocky road up through the wood. Once at the building site, kept to the side and followed a path through connifers to a clearing. From there was a quick walk up the dead ferns. Same route back. | JAdair97 | 10/03/2022 |

Parked at the food company offices in Twechar and then followed signs for John Muir Way up to the trig summit. Looks like I'll have to try the alternative summit another time as wrong summit. | JAdair97 | 03/01/2022 |
Croy Hill first then back across road, followed good track then up through trees with a couple of false summits. Back to track and up the other side to Trig and Roman Fort. | PeterD | 14/10/2021 |

From Auchinstarry marina. Walked thro woodland along the crest from E to W not fun. Best just ascend from track which passes to the N of the summit. | bjewing | 15/02/2021 |
Up the main street from ind. est. to take pleasant wooded path to ex quarry and over false top to summit. Dead bracken still problematic. Return by Roman ditch and trig to well signed Fort of Bar Hill. | lordtonult | 28/12/2020 |

Along the John Muir Way from the East then the fun begins accessing the highest point. This hill is beastly. From the high point spotted someone at the nearby trig so visited it along the Antonine Wall. | NormanW | 13/10/2020 |
Checking out some sites on the antonine wall. lovely viewpoint this. | hils | 12/10/2020 |
From Twechar. Easy parking on small industrial estate opposite walk to the Roman Fort. I was just over 100 mts from top but then the bracken forest fought back. Suggest mid winter for this one. There is an easier approach using the gap between the two tops on the new hill, approached from nw. | Campbell Singer | 09/10/2020 |

Early evening re-ascent to the new summit location. Cycled up the track from Croy to the high point. Then on foot up to the col between two tops in nice beech trees. Then up steeply through 2m high bracken to the summit. Sounded like a big party in full swing near the original summit, and several locals making their way to and from it. | Minto | 11/07/2020 |

P Twechar Industrial Estate & followed tourist path up to Roman camp. At the E end of the field the camp is in, there's a dirt trail running south that
takes you to the old quarry road. I followed this N for a short distance then just headed into the undergrowth, but it would be better to stay on the
quarry road to about NS 71067 75932 then head straight up. There's a short patch of clearfell before the slope, but it still saves a bit of battling with the vegetation. Summit a small clear patch. | agentmancuso | 05/06/2020 |
From car wash at Croy. Really interesting hill with the Roman remains and good views. Ascended 4 distinct summits: the one S of the trig seems to be the highest. | sclater | 08/03/2020 |

After Croy Hill. Up the John Muir Way then opting for easier south side to west end and up to well decorated trig with dog walkers’ convention taking place. Back down via northern side and back to car. Very warm day, great clear views. | Jubilado | 12/07/2019 |

A thoroughly enjoyable walk from Croy along the John Muir Way and to the summit and trig on Castle Hill. Then there's the matter of the alternative summit. After two false starts, I crossed the ditch by the military road and thrashed through fallen trees, high bracken and conifers to the steeply domed top. It is - unfortunately - almost certainly higher than the trig summit. | Nick Down1 | 23/05/2018 |

YSM0465 Castle Hill. One of 5 trigs planned on the way to Arran. Only managed 2, this being the second! Easy enough walk to this, parked on the road at N55° 57.435' W4° 04.984'and followed the track all the way to the hill fort. Lovely spot great views. | thejackrustles | 16/11/2017 |

4th of 5 on John Muir Way walk from Strathblane to Croy. Superb way to appreciate Antonine Wall. On to Croy Hill. | Thearlaichdubh | 25/01/2017 |
