From New England b-lined to the road. Followed the road to just east of the summit and then through some shrubbery to the summit. After that, b-lined back to the cottage at the entrance and then on to my car.JAdair9719/05/2022
Across from New England up pasture and into woods to top amongst Rhododendrons. Cloud was so low I couldn’t see the Railway bridge. Back out on track to gate to SW. last UA top.PeterD16/05/2022
Tracks all a bit unclear near the top, but then it was dark! Good views of the lit up bridges on the way up and down.Belfarm 05/11/2021
A long circuit from the Steakhouse on the A90 near Cramond, via Burnshot Gate, the 66m hill above it, Home Farm, Mansion Hill, Chapel Gate, Mons Hill, Barnbougle Castle, New England, the Walled Garden, Dalmeny House and the John Muir Way. These hills feel like they’re rarely climbed, despite being on the edge of Edinburgh.sclater22/08/2021
After New England. Straight down to pond and straight up fields and pleasant woodland to rhodedendron bush. Exited West on good track, and good views of Bridges. Back to bus stop in Dalmeny having had an enjoyable 90 minute circular tour.Thearlaichdubh22/02/2021
5 Tump circualar walk with L from the iconic Forth Rail Bridge - the bridge to end all bridges -and since 2015 a UNESCO World Heritage Site . I'm still trying to grasp how cantilevers work -and leant that the saying 'painting the Forth Bridge' for never ending jobs is no longer true as modern painting means it's now good for 20 years before its next lick. We renamed this hill as Hill of furniture acquisition -as a friend rang near summit to offer us her charity shop bound furniture. We also acquired a smart phone - found on path -it was unlocked so rang first no. the daughter of owner (and we had a friendly chat with a fellow Yorkshire soul!) -then we met relieved owner hot footing it back hunting for it. Later after New England Hill unbelievably we found another smart phone !!! Still playing track and trace as screen saver shows a student timetable with teacher names and subjects -so hope to trace school. (Footnote-successfully returned by post)Chris Pearson15/07/2020

P Dalmeny Station, cut across fields to Luchold Gate, track up. Last Yeaman on LR65, on to New England.agentmancuso09/01/2019
My last 3 tumps in the Edinburgh UA all on the Dalmeny estate. Parked on wide grass verge at the main entrance and wandered around the estate in the dying light of an early (16:39) sunset due to the clocks changing last night. Hit this, the last of the 3, at 40 mins after, light failing fast, the descent to the Leuchold Gate (missed the benchmark on the lodge) in darkness. Lovely views of the railway bridge lit up in orange sodium lamps. 600m walk back along the raod to the car. Off to Edinburgh Central hostel for the night.jonglew28/10/2018
