Approached from SE- parking in layby at junction. Mapped RoW barely exists- rough heather and bilberry moorland. Per Abney and HB GR, HP is SE summit with no feature- heather; NW summit is of similar height and has cairn . Sunny spells, breeze, cool. Head NE. NB mapped forest visitor Centre is MTB track Centre with £7.50 parking fee.Denise 19/03/2023
Rough going from Tynymynydd farm. Broken stile onto wild Bilberry / moss / dead bracken moorland with a few Birch and Firs. No sign of the mapped path. Levelish Heather moorland summit, high point unmarked. W wind, patchy cumulus, sunshine. Higher than rise to W with large 'cairn' - Abney. Good views. Also visited the 'cairn', which turns out to be a stone horseshoe shelter.RichardM19/03/2023
From lay-by to SE through farm over stile and then quickly lost FP if it exists. Headed uphill through vegetation and over a number of false summits to top. Also went to cairn which seemed same height. Followed faint path back down which then disappeared.PeterD19/10/2022
Good parking across the road from Tynymynydd farm. Through farm then a mostly pathless bash through knee high vegetation.Alan Caine03/04/2022
As others said. Bracken death helped a bit. Interesting(?) view across the Wirral and Fiddler's Ferry powerstation.Martin R19/11/2021
Parked opposite Tynymynydd in large lay by. Through scrappy farmyard and onto rough hill. A few animal tracks in places.Campbell Singer29/04/2021
From the road to the south I went straight up which was a mistake as it is quite steep and hard bilberries and heather. Better to follow the path through the farm I think.clivevilla16/05/2019
From lay by to SE then through farm and slog through pathless knee deep heather for fine views from topMark Sims14/05/2019
Popular layby at SJ22696 52071 - Up track, through Ty'n y Mynydd farmyard & NNW up RoW to wide ridge (path soon disappears). Tough going up ridge over dead bracken & heather. Going gets easier over final 500m with much less bracken & useful sheep trods. Visited unmarked summit & across to windshelter which is as high. (S)gerrybowes29/12/2018
Memorable for the wrong reasons - pathless slog through heather and dead bracken. Good view from summit though. Solo.JohnIvor20/05/2018
From large layby to SE, opposite track to Tynymynydd farm. Through farm then RoW which soon seems to disappear. Rough going up hillside through bracken and heather, a bit easier on upper hill. Twin summits, the further one with shelter more satisfying - both same height according to GPS device.Aye Jimmy26/01/2018

The most sheeptick infested piece of land I have ever encountered. I would strongly advise any dog owner, to leave their animal at home.PeteF18/09/2016
Park at 225520, through farm, follow narrow paths through bracken and thrash uphill to double summit. Purple heather.arranc05/09/2015
4/9 parked on road to Pant and headed up false summit, than crossed through valley to real summit.Fergalh09/05/2015
Parked near the junction between the lane to Pant and the A5104 at SJ 20823 52580 - plenty of room. Scaled gate in corner of field (access land), under the power lines and then up steeply through thick heather to a shelf on the NW flank of the fell. There I picked up a track which took me up to the bwlch between the summit cone and the 404m SW top of the hill. Visited the NW summit first (cairn and wind shelter) at SJ 21541 52553, then the featureless SE summit (SJ 21646 52526) with the 413m spot height. Got same height readings on my GPS for both summits. Used the track to descend all the way to a gate on the lane at Pant at SJ 20732 52327 and back to car by lane. A fine hill.Man of Kernow125/12/2013
