From layby @ SJ 1585 4246 via Ty Newydd and tracks to the N of the top. A grassy track spur (track junction @ SJ 1651 4279, c200m from the comms mast) gets one within a couple of minutes veg bash and fence hop to the top. | summitsup | 14/10/2023 |

Quite brambly and gorsey after 2nd fork so went round to north and up from back which, though still overgrown, seemed less so. | Alan Moore | 04/11/2022 |
Followed tracks as previous baggers. Nice chat with a resident who lives on the track leading to Garth Isaf. He takes his dog up there every morning. | Alan Caine | 23/07/2022 |
Left Manchester at 0720, and thanks to the notes from AJ and GerryBowes reached the top of this tump at 09:30. Hill much more pleasant than I expected, though the last 200m were a bit of struggle with crutches owing to the dead branches and brambles between the new young trees. Found the small pile of stones and reached home at 11:45. Had a couple of short chats near the top with local dog walkers who both told me they went up the hill every day | GordonAdshead | 05/05/2022 |
Parked in large lay-by set back from A5 at SJ 1589 4249 - Along track to Garth Isaf & turned left just before entrance - NW on track for about 100m, took right fork & up track for another 150m to next junction - Turned right & up to T-junction at SJ 1613 4289 - Right again & along track to second lot of low mesh fencing at SJ 1648 4284 - SW between rows of young conifers to the pile of stones logged by Aye Jimmy at SJ 16416 42751; this certainly appears to be the high point. From Butterfly House along Lane to Garth Isabella. Turned east along fp and up through wood. Turned west at mast toward scrappy summit area. | Campbell Singer | 20/04/2021 |
As others. Parked at the former butterfly man. Up lane to last house, right through gate on forest track climbs up to mast and at crest another track appears to left. Followed this past wheelbarrow and other crap to 3ft high chicken wire fence- high point fairly obvious inside this pen. Robs aforementioned hut is there- its blown down, but this is clearly not the high point. Scrappy top. | stig_nest | 04/04/2021 |
Verge parked SJ 1579 4296. Mapped track round S edge forest to sharp left on game keepers unmapped track at SJ 1609 4270. Right SJ 1602 4284 and right again SJ 1609 4284. Well-maintained track with recently cut back vegetation. No one around but obviously used by pheasant keeper reguylarly | carole engel | 22/11/2018 |
As Rob50 from layby on A5, past Ruth Lee craft centre (being renovated). Then lane to Garth Isaf, but then turned R along gently rising track below forest. Near top another large track leads up left to low fence. Step over this to felled summit area. Lot of burnt rubbish and debris about but no hut. Highest point a pile of stones about 60m WNW of original suggested summit. | Aye Jimmy | 20/02/2018 |
Parked in layby off A5 by the craft centre 158425, followed track to Garth Isaf. Footpath to the left in front of house then followed clear track(not marked on map) right upwards, then right again, then right again. This brings you to a fence. Over fence, summit obvious at the moment as tree felling has taken place. Returned same way. | Rob50 | 26/12/2017 |
From w, RoW then steep forest road up to L just before house, then R up ridge on track that leads to summit, small hut by large pheasant pen. Intermittent moonlight, surprisingly easy. | RHW | 20/12/2015 |
