Here for the trigpoint. TP:UK log: Bunnahabhain-Sgarbh Breac-Mala Bholsa- Rhuvall Lighthouse-Rhuvaal-Bunnahabhain. Parking NR 4173 7339. Start of a looong day. First pillar in a three pillar circuit. Parking for a few cars on north side of track at NR418734 which was the starting and finishing point of this circuit. Bridge at NR 41772 73515 is also useful to know although it does have a few missing planks but still better than fording the river. With Clochandighter, Jon Glew and coinea. https://www.geograph.org.uk/geotrips/1846thejackrustles08/05/2022
From small parking area a little NW of the distillery (NR 4174 7339). FB a little further N at NR 4175 7355 then the atv track towards the lighthouse for a short distance before peeling off on a roughly direct line. On to Mala Bholsa, Beinn Thrasda, the Rhuvaal lighthouse and return for a 22k round.jonglew08/05/2022
From Bunnahabhain, as others over the bridge, along the power/telegraph poles on grassy track then up ATV to summit quartzite tundra.N.Morters03/04/2022
Relative Hills Society Islay meet. Solo. From just before road bend near Bunnahabhainn Distillery. Followed track west for a short distance before following ATV track N, across footbridge, and ATV track again. ATV and deer tracks to Sgarbh Breac. Returned over Margadale Hill and Shùn Bheinn to start. Fine weather.pwbellarby02/04/2022
Parked near Bunnahabhain then down to bridge then easy walk to Sgarbh Breac then onward to Beinn Thrasda where we saw a white tailed eagle hanging around a dead sheep in a bog plus plenty of fit deer. Then onward towards Rhuvaal trig and then Rhuvall Lighthouse just as a ferry sailed by.Dugswell202/04/2022
Very memorable day out with crystal clear visibility ranging right from Barra Head, Mull, and Loch Linnhe and then back south/southwest to Malin Head and the Antrim coast. Dry conditions underfoot made for pleasant walking throughout.Alex C02/04/2022
With Dave Roeder. Parked at Bunnahabhain (16:25), crossed the river at the bridge and followed a grassy track north, and then a faint path up the SE ridge to the summit. Fine afternoon with good views. Returned by the same route. Finish 18:40.dbb01/04/2022

A lovely easy and fast walk, the perfect antidote to Jura (hadn't realised how fit it had made me). Easy, dry, smooth ATV track over the bridge and up the hill, then a lovely cruise on short quartzite tundra to the top, fine views.Gill01/04/2022
Pleasant ascent with Colin Watsonassynt_bob01/04/2022
Simple walk up on ATV track from Bunnahabhain. Lovely airy hill. Solo.Dangerous Dave01/04/2022
From road end near distillery. Nice little hill.ger30/03/2022
Good parking on the bend before the road drops to Bunnahabhain. 50 yards west also good parking and a gate leads to a bridge before an easy walk to the summit. About 2.5 hours return with CM and Ger. Great views!bolton30/03/2022
A beautiful day out. Great views, golden eagle flew just above our heads, lots of deer and goats.Tonyandsue07/09/2021
From Bunnahabhainpaulhilder14/08/2021
Across the footbridge and along the grass track that makes the ascent of Sgarbh Breac a doddle, then SW across tussocky grass and minor peat hags to Margadale Hill. A pretty direct line to the south shore of Loch Smigeadail, then contoured around to reach the southern slope of Sgarbh Dubh, up which it is easily climbed. We doubled back to bag the two featureless summits of Creagan Corr before heading over to Giur-bheinn's NE top and for more majestic main summit. Once round Loch Guir-bheinn Deana spied a large gate along the forestry fence line, which once duly climbed through/over gave a grassy/sphagnum descent to a stone track leading back to Bunnahabhain. 5hrs.summitter14/05/2021

Solo trip. Easy access on ATV tracks. Took home a large deflated birthday balloon as my piece of litter.Invicta1424/04/2018
From Bunnahabhain - good ATV tracks most of the way - smashing hill.Chris Peart31/03/2018
Best Marilyn on the island with stunning summit views. From Guir-Bheinn crossed via the west shoulder of Morgodale Hill. Avoid very nasty boggy sections by keeping to higher ground. In contrast once on Scarbh Breac the surface is pure heaven - dry short heathery stony ground, making the descent back to the distillery a pure delight. NB there's a bridge across the river.AndrewFinnimore09/08/2017
From Bunnahabhan across bridge then fairly direct route to fine summit.RobertP05/04/2017

From NR 41782 73397. Delightful.summitsup09/06/2015
Sit in the Car at Bunnahabhan waiting for another squall of hail to pass over - do we / don't we go? - We go! - Squelchy track to Bachlaig then a slow steady ascent - white rocky heather clad summit - gale force winds but blue and sunny - the everwatchful deer follow our movements from below. We descend to Port Chotan to explore the caves and cliffs (very impresive and very lonely). We follow the coast to the Rhuwaal Lighthouse (its barking dog anounces our arrival). Butties by the trig then we squelch back to Bunnahabhan.briandavies28/04/2015

Parked on shore at Bunnahabhain. On access track uphill to gate in deer fence to open moor. Buggy tracks and 2 mile trudge over dryish moor with very many false horizons. Crossed stone runs and to top at 11.55. to G-Bheinn.arranc30/04/2005
