| Here for the trigpoint. TP:UK log: Bunnahabhain-Sgarbh Breac-Mala Bholsa- Rhuvall Lighthouse-Rhuvaal-Bunnahabhain. Parking NR 4173 7339. Start of a looong day. First pillar in a three pillar circuit. Parking for a few cars on north side of track at NR418734 which was the starting and finishing point of this circuit. Bridge at NR 41772 73515 is also useful to know although it does have a few missing planks but still better than fording the river. | From small parking area a little NW of the distillery (NR 4174 7339). FB a little further N at NR 4175 7355 then the atv track towards the lighthouse for a short distance before peeling off on a roughly direct line. | Relative Hills Society Islay meet. Solo. From just before road bend near Bunnahabhainn Distillery. Followed track west for a short distance before following ATV track N, across footbridge, and ATV track again. ATV and deer tracks to Sgarbh Breac. | Parked near Bunnahabhain then down to bridge then easy walk to Sgarbh Breac then onward to Beinn Thrasda where we saw a white tailed eagle hanging around a dead sheep in a bog plus plenty of fit deer. | Good parking on the bend before the road drops to Bunnahabhain. 50 yards west also good parking and a gate leads to a bridge before an easy walk to the summit. About 2.5 hours return with CM and Ger. Great views! | bolton | 30/03/2022 |

| Across the footbridge and along the grass track that makes the ascent of Sgarbh Breac a doddle, then SW across tussocky grass and minor peat hags to Margadale Hill. A pretty direct line to the south shore of Loch Smigeadail, then contoured around to reach the southern slope of Sgarbh Dubh, up which it is easily climbed. We doubled back to bag the two featureless summits of Creagan Corr before heading over to Giur-bheinn's NE top and for more majestic main summit. Once round Loch Guir-bheinn Deana spied a large gate along the forestry fence line, which once duly climbed through/over gave a grassy/sphagnum descent to a stone track leading back to Bunnahabhain. 5hrs. | summitter | 14/05/2021 |

| Best Marilyn on the island with stunning summit views. From Guir-Bheinn crossed via the west shoulder of Morgodale Hill. Avoid very nasty boggy sections by keeping to higher ground. In contrast once on Scarbh Breac the surface is pure heaven - dry short heathery stony ground, making the descent back to the distillery a pure delight. | Sit in the Car at Bunnahabhan waiting for another squall of hail to pass over - do we / don't we go? - We go! - Squelchy track to Bachlaig then a slow steady ascent - white rocky heather clad summit - gale force winds but blue and sunny - the everwatchful deer follow our movements from below. We descend to Port Chotan to explore the caves and cliffs (very impresive and very lonely). We follow the coast to the Rhuwaal Lighthouse (its barking dog anounces our arrival).
