From Llyn y Sarnau car park, S. along vehicle track to junction at SH 7811 5862, turned right & followed track round to 781579 - N. up through Sika to summit. Only 130m or so, but tough going; on all fours in places. Thankfully, it does open up a bit over the final 50m.gerrybowes02/01/2023
Pen Coedmawr & Bryn Tanycastell with Rufus from Llyn Sarnau. Approached via MTB track to N and ascended directly to high point due S. Very unpleasant fight for 200m and back through dense spruce. Small bouldery rib signals you are close! Descended slightly to NE but soon deteriorates into deep moss and gorse, spruce was preferable so moved back over to north/south line. Hard work.jacobrichmond04/12/2022
Only attempt if you have lost your sanity. 50 minutes to cover the 260m return from the track to the south.andrew brown13/01/2019
Probably best not tackled from the N where there is dense conifer forest. Thwarted by lack of time.RichardM10/06/2017
From forest track to the south.jrj31/01/2017
Nice walk in from Llyn Sarnau car park, using MTB trail which is well shown on OpenStreetMap, but hill itself is less so! Climbed SE side - desparate dense sitka - descended due S to forest road, rough but OK. RHW19/05/2013

Climbed this top on a Geography Field trip in Betws one evening. Woodland and occasional good views - but mainly trees.ChinnockCblank
