Final hill of the day. I parked in a muddy layby next to the Dog ppp bin and then took the fp up through a field to a stile and then grassy pasture with cows further off who decided to come running over so i sprinted to the gate stile just in case. Easy path upto the tower. Nice top. I took a wilder descent through the trees and then found a good path that took me to a path on the Eastern side of the hill that eventually came out onto the road and after that an easy walk back to the junction I visited the High Cross prior to driving back.Dazingdale10/02/2024
From road junction to NW up to towerPeterD17/10/2022
Roofless round stone tower in clearing. Access via woodland path. Plaque says Roman pharos, restored 1897 for Queen Victoria's jubilee. Apparently a listed building but no evidence of roman connections; more likely to have been a windmill or beacon before becoming a Victorian folly. Parked at 3 way junction to NW and followed RoW across 2 fields to woods.Denise 10/04/2022
Taking the usual route from the NW. A pity there isn't a view point from top of the tower.RichardM10/04/2022
Easy parking in pull-in by junction to NW at SJ 1294 7877 - Up RoW across maize stubble & then pasture to gate into wood - Turned left & good path up to high point by tower. The wheel cross mentioned by DC11main was worth a visit. (S)gerrybowes20/03/2022
I parked on the roadside at SJ 1294 7877.Over stile through 2 fields each with a kissing gate. This route follows the North Wales Pilgrims' path. After the second kissing gate I turned left onto path that leads to the summit tower.johnbarnard2501/02/2022
Good roadside parking SJ 12941 78770. Whilst you are take a look at the Maen Achwyfan Cross through a kissing gate in the field opposite the parking place. It is a high cross dating from the late 10th or early 11th century. Standing 3.4 metres high, it is the tallest wheel cross in Britain, and a Scheduled monument.DC11main23/09/2020

As others, from NW. F/p rather surprisingly leads straight across the middle of two large fields. Over stile at top then LH track to tower.Aye Jimmy29/11/2017
Parked by junction to the NW then up fp through two fields and left turn once over the fence into the woods. Some people say the tower is Roman originally but you would think there would be some sort of a sign if anybody is expected to take this theory seriously.clivevilla02/01/2017

Parked by parish church in Whitford opposite playground at SJ 14621 78234). Took lane south then east, then south-west on bridleway past Terfyn-dwydre. Then bridleway north-west to lane. Took lane south-west, then RoW past Groesffordd to another lane. Followed this NNW to some farm buildings (not shown on map), then over stile on RoW north through wood to summit tower. Partially obscured panorama of Merseyside. To return, re-traced steps for 200m, then on RoW north-west through pasture to lane, turning east to arrive back in Whitford after about 1.5km. Nordic walk on a hot sunny evening.Man of Kernow130/06/2015
