joined little group with social worker, surprised he not been up these hills ! well worth the effort. nice gorge and woodland | mattcymru | 13/12/2023 |
Approached from bridleway to south. Woodland Trust public access woods. Myriad of unmapped paths take you to within a few m of summit, unmarked. In deciduous woods with some fern, bramble and ivy understory. Ancient hill fort with evident earthworks. | Denise | 18/11/2023 |

From Woodland Trust car park to NNW at SH 9339 7715, up stone track for about 200m to junction with path at SH 9354 7720 - Up path to 'crossroads', straight across & up to junction by 'Danger' sign at SH 9352 7695 - Turned right & along track to junction at SH 9342 7677 & then left up track to junction with path at SH 9350 7669 - Turned left & up past man-made mound to natural high point in trees to left of path. | gerrybowes | 08/04/2022 |
An example of DoBIH inconsistency. The mound in the middle of the hillfort is considered not natural, whereas elsewhere human-made mounds (particularly slag heaps) do count. | Martin R | 03/04/2022 |
Early start from Manchester despite M56 being closed. Parked at NW entrance and took mixture of tracks and path up ridge. | GordonAdshead | 26/03/2022 |

Mart parked at the Woodland Trust then we followed the track round to the hill fort and summit. Woodland obscured the views a bit but nice to have lunch on the ramparts of a hill fort. | John Eley | 07/05/2018 |

From car park. Very muddy start of track due to combination of heavy rain and forestry machinery. Pleasant walk through wood. Interesting summit. | JamesD1972 | 09/11/2016 |
