2nd of 5 today. Parked up in layby to the North of the footpath leading to the farm, West approach. Found gate but no signs of footpath but followed line and eventually came across the track that leads to open access land and from there a crossing of the wall where there was a break and a gradual rise to the summit plateaux. Visited the high point then went over to the knoll just to the North (slightly lower) but Nw knoll gave a higher reading.I descended to follow a grassy track that leads to the footpath leading through the abandoned Ystumcegid-ganol and eventually back to the track leading back to the road. The tracks were very wet as some streams were dropping into them. The Afon Dwyfor was in full spate today. Great rickety footbridge parallel to the road bridge leading to the farm. | Dazingdale | 23/09/2023 |
Nice views of the Nantlle ridge and Moel Hebog from this this knolly top . | Mark Sims | 29/10/2021 |
From the east. Parked up the lane at 51352 418977 in a layby. Over a not obvious stile south of the house, up a field, diagonally down a track then little in the way of paths up through bracken. Good views. | clivevilla | 23/08/2021 |
I parked near what I thought was a fotpath but didn't go that way as there were cows and no way of crossing the liver. I went to the farm and over a gate as the map shows there's a footpath. There's no actual signs or path. It took a long time to walk up the feilds of ferns, there are sheep trails you can follow but should check for ticks if waring shorts. At the top there's a few summits so I did all of them to make sure. | Skarletk | 02/08/2021 |

From road to NW of Ystumcegid Farm. 3 other tops of similar height also visited. The one at SH 50511 41813 was closest in height, and may even be higher. | jonglew | 09/10/2017 |
Solo walk: Craig-y-garn - Bryniau Ystumcegid - Bryn Braich-y-saint - Criccieth in unrelenting drizzle and sea-level cloud. Warning - the ROW from Beudy Cil-haul to the N is difficult to follow and at one point barbed wire has been put over a stile guarded by 5-foot brambles. Made a beeline from the ROW at SH507418 - just about OK through bracken & gorse. Other summits looked as high though it was hard to tell! | Mark Jackson | 21/08/2016 |
Straightforward walk from the east on footpaths although needed to park in a gateway which wasn't ideal and meant I had to leg it to ensure there were no angry farmer confrontations. | Herbert Anchovy | 27/05/2015 |
2 summits of apparently equal height. From NNE, nice approach but awkward wall crossing. Better from ESE? | RHW | 20/04/2015 |
