By well . £5 entry. Welsh Heritage . Easy parking . Impressive castle. Good cut marks around too!Denise 17/11/2023
I pay my £4:80 entrance fee taking full advantage of the over 60 concession saving me 20p on the standard adult price. Indeterminate natural high point the whole area having been disturbed by the building of the castle. Highest ground is now the lawn close to the well. Steps gain the top of the castle wall from which there’s a good view.RichardM17/11/2023
Solo. Quickly over wall, deserted streets near dusk.Nick Canute02/06/2023
Parked in Love Lane and walked along Castle Lane to the entrance to the castle but it is closed midweek in Winter. Luckily I had spotted what turned out to be a way over a wall and up some steps from Castle Lane.clivevilla31/01/2023
Parked on Castle Lane & a short walk up to castle which had just opened (10:00). Receptionist was aware of hill-bagging & allowed me in free of charge. Visited high point near well & was back out within a couple of minutes, long enough to enjoy the views. (S)gerrybowes05/03/2022
Late Sunday afternoon. Needed to prebook a ticket due to pandemic. However kind man decided to give me free access for a quick visit to the top near well. Impressive well. In fact, impressive castle.Campbell Singer20/09/2020

Arrived as chap opening up - said I needed a ticket but wanted to finish opening up first. I went to bag the top and returned to pay, after which he felt he couldn't charge me for such a short visit - I did try. Check opening times on internetcarole engel23/11/2018
Within castle grounds, £4 entry or £3.20 if over 60. Ground midway between Well and NW wall seems highest.Aye Jimmy08/06/2018
Highest point on terra firma seems to be by the well but you can get onto the battlements. With Gill, Debbie & Richard.ADT20/02/2017
No one about on a Friday afternoon in February so we saved ourselves the £10.80 family entry fee. Interesting castle to wander about for half an hour and a rare bit of sunshine.Herbert Anchovy17/02/2017

The town walls are also a good little walk. For some reason, they are locked, but we were able to borrow a key from the library.Pete R22/12/2005
