Parked at the station around 18.00. Lovely evening walk, under one hour. Hard part is the bracken on the island. Perhaps best done in winter! Mrs M gave up.bolton24/06/2023

As others from Talsarnau station. Needed to cross first channel on salt Marsh early then easy to sand. Across 30mins before low tide. Well trodden track from south up through bracken to top. 3 others were at top when I arrived, they had been across much earlier than me.PeterD16/08/2022

An adventurous outing ad-hoc from Portmeirion beach on outgoing tide 1 hrs from Lt. Had to detour significantly to cross tidal channel crossing over on tiptoes holding my phone and walking shoes above my head as the water came upto my sternum. Crossed some easy channels before arriving at large rocks. Walking shoes on. Climbed over fence then waded through bracken to reach cliff corner with fence. Path passes 2 potential summit areas, the area surrounded by thick gorse & bracken, descent straight on through bracken to climb fence then down steeply to arrive at tricky cliff; i used overhanging oak branches to slow descent on slippery rocks. Return route back to Portmeirion tricky too. Couldn't cross main channel near Portmeirion so waded through centre of channel before crossing diagonally where the water was rippling, still upto my chest. Scrambled upto the fenceline in the woodland before intersecting path coming down and around the hotel pool to meet family.Dazingdale22/08/2017
crossed 45 mins before LW Porthmadog (neaps). No problems at all - a few inches of water in one of the channels on the salt marsh, sand firm and looked like it had been dry for a while.AndyS23/01/2017
With Alex C, Rob, Adrian, Tony J, Geoff, Edith, Maria and Mrs G. A few channels to leap, one too wide so damp feet. A strong westerly possibly not allowing tide to drop low enough for a dry crossing. Investigated dilapidated house and out bldgs then beat a path through bracken and bramble up from rear of bldgs to open summit area.jonglew20/08/2016
Group convened by Alex C. RoW from Talsarnau. After level x-ing, first channel best crossed ASAP, then straightforward. Tidal channel shin deep, 1hr before low (spring) tide, no lower on return at low tide. Best route is up from S, starting at grassy area above obvious rocks, although brackeny higher up; we followed JonG up from RHS of house, much tougher route.RHW20/08/2016

With Bev. There is a path up which is hidden by bracken if you go in the summer. Follow public footpath line to the island and when you reach it there is a small rocky outcrop on the far left hand side. The path skirts through from about 20 yards to the left of this outcrop. Top is not as given on the website but is close to the 39m spot height.simon and co06/09/2015
Followed a receding tide at approx. 3:00 pm (low tide 6:00 pm).summitsup07/05/2015
Second time we'd walked over here from Talsarnau Station but this was the first time to the top of the island. Walked over in bare feet even though it was winter so no problem crossing the channels. Visited the ruined house and then went to the south of the island where we had to create our own path through the bracken, me in front trampling a route for the children to follow. Had a picnic on the top in the sun - a fantastic location with fabulous views. Parts of the island starting to scrub over with gorse and brambles.Herbert Anchovy15/02/2015
