From the Allanreid CP, along the Livet track to Suie then up the southern flank of Tor of Suie (heather) to its top. Eastwards to rejoin the track to the wind turbines and on to Cook's Cairn. Back down and over to Carn na Bruar, then SE to the lowest point of the col, taking a heather-free route down to the Kymah Burn, where a narrow FP leads downstream back to a footbridge below the cottage and onto the track we came in on.summitter13/02/2023

From Alanreid, via Suie and Carn na Bruar. Tracks most of the way, in snow and cloud. My 1200th Marilyn.Minto06/12/2022
From Carn na Bruar. Wooden signpost points the way uphill on a stony track. The path disappeared under snow half way up. With Minto & Mntainman.Dangerous Dave06/12/2022

Good parking NJ 269 326. Ford to SSE not as mapped - a little further west (NJ 27622 31412). Track up Crooked Stripe no longer exists but that up Burn of Altavallie is good. Retraced steps onto Corryhabbie Hill, Carn a'Bhodaich to pick up track at NJ 271 298 - more a deer trod than a track. Makeshift stile at NJ 27015 30905, from where NE to Shean Dhu. From here track is just very long grasscarole engel26/07/2022

GHC Ballater weekend. A long slog up the glen to get this. Good path all the way.Play2End22/06/2019
From Allenread car par to Suie (bridge OK inspite of warning!) and then up signed tracks to summit. Very windy, chilly but good views all round; shame about the intrusive wind farm. Return same way.MichaelF23/05/2019
