Ploughed up right of way across field made for walk up farm track with unfriendly goml signs there | vegibagger | 30/04/2019 |
From road, took Farm track then bearded off left into field, went round hedge and had to push way through hay bales , down FP a little way to avoid horses before heading NE below mast to reach HP, back same way. | PeterD | 08/04/2019 |
2/2 I knew this was going to be a pain. No marked public RoW, signs at farm warding you off. Went through field occupied by four hourses, so muddy that I thought I was going to get stuck. It looks like the farmer has blocked the RoW with a huge stack of hay bales! Summit area guarded by geese. Hard to tell which field to head for, not very clear where the true summit is as everywhere else looks higher wherever you stand. I was nervous up here as there was a hostile atmosphere coming from the farm, I got barked at on the way back down. The RoW made more sense on the way back. When approaching from the Drive marked 'Valley View Farm' (or something like that) you need to go directly left into the crop field, there is a bit of a path that follows the hedge line and avoids the muddy horse field. The area itself is actually quite nice, but this was almost more bother than it was worth and took about an hour of faffing about! | tumpawumpa | 19/12/2017 |
No livestock problem but the FP that drifts left off the drive is not marked so you end up at the farm with a grumpy No Public Access sign. If you go across the field to the left then climb a gate on your right, the next gate is obviously paid for with public money. You can follow the FP over the brow before cutting across to summit out of sight of the farm. | clivevilla | 28/07/2016 |
From SJ 28556 08710 firstly over access land then skulked hedge-close in a generally south-westerly direction. Narrowly avoided potential confrontation with a quad bike patrol by just one minute after regaining open access land. | summitsup | 26/11/2015 |
Access problems due to fairly docile looking bull in field I had to cross. However. The bullocks in the same field were very frisky so made a long detour around field on southern side. Actual top is shielded from far, which appeared empty possibly due to Thursday being market day at the Welshpool auction house | trimarc2 | 01/10/2015 |
From SE, parked on verge of surfaced farm road. Visited in fog but pasture summit is behind a substantial hedge so probably OK access. | RHW | 28/09/2013 |
