Drove up the icy road from Tarland towards Boig. We got as far as we could and a kind lady let us park on her drive, just before the road crossed the Burn of Glaaick. Walked the rest of the frozen road to Boig then took the signposted path uphill through the sheep fields to a gate into the forest. Walked east then north up the forest tracks then out onto the open hillside. Followed fence to summit. Thigh-deep unconsolidated snow at -8 degrees made this a memorable 6 hour walk! New parking layby NJ 4720 0763 with FP sign. Mapped path top side forest NJ 474 080 currently very long grass. Easier walk direct up fence line to W to track junction (NJ 4740 0829). Then good track of compacted earth NE. Track up thru' forest becoming over grown but still good walking all the way up.carole engel24/07/2022
From Boig, walkers car park 200m E. Easy ascent. Continue straight up along the fence at NJ473080; the paths through the field on OS 25k & 50k don't exist. The track N from Black Howe is becoming overgrown. Galltywenallt23/06/2022

A very pleasant walk using the WH route anti clockwise from Tarland because of prevailing Easterly wind and because walking toward best views. All of the South facing slopes between Pressendye and Broom Hill are now planted with conifers so would advise doing this Hill before the super panoramas disappear.Ben Rinnes20/04/2022
From Tarland, following the Blue Trail (map on board in village centre), going out of village on minor road to N, turning NE into a track at NJ48005, then following mapped tracks and markers all the way to the summit, returning same way (3h5m)kdbennett18/03/2022
