From the visitor centre (nice and quiet mid-week). Took the southern ridge up Mither Tap, instead of the more vertical front path. Then over the moor to Oxen Craig before dropping down into the forest for some shade on the way back.Toby-and-Dion25/05/2023
From the Bennachie Visitor Centre, using the green trail to the top of Mither Tap, then across the moor by the brown trail to the top of Oxen Craig. Descent south on a good path to join the Gordon Way east back to the visitor centre. With RP, and BC as far as Mither Tap. 11.3km, with 530m of ascent.Man of Kernow117/05/2023

Christmas Day tump. Glorious weather if very cold and icy. Along Gordon Way from approx Bennachie Centre to Watch Hill and then back over Oxen Craig with descent south below Mither Tap. Devastation in the trees from Storm Arwen meant a few diversions lower down.sarahk25/12/2021
Solo trip, brilliant sunshine, best day of the week. Must be the most ascended hill in Aberdeenshire. By the tourist route (Mither Tap timeline trail) from the Visitor Centre; from Mither Tap across to Oxen Craig, cut down to the south to join the Gordon Trail back to the car park.Invicta1420/09/2021

An excellent 12 km 2hr 10mins hill run over the 3 tops with L on a hot (sun)day - appropriately. From 200m S of visitor centre (free Parking at forest track side) L set a hard good pace up the well travelled path to summit in 29mins - good training for lungs and thighs up the giant rocky staircase then lovely smooth easy undulating runnable paths onwards linking Craigshannoch -Oxen Craig -Watch Crag-then back along the south side contouring track (Gordon Way). Lots of little helpful signposts doted over the hill at all of the path junctions. Lots of folk and their children and dogs out on this glorious day - but non from Aberdeen City as they have sadly gone into a new Covid 19 lockdown -with 5 mile limit for recreation travel-thwarting L's brother and family joining us today as they are frustratingly just the wrong side of the border.Chris Pearson09/08/2020

From the Visitor Centre, along the Millstone Hill Trail to Mother Tap (fascinating spot), on to the Quarry Trail to Craigshannoch & Oxen Craig (Bennachie), then dodging the Bennachie 50k runners to Watch Craig. Down to the Gordon Way to Heather Brig, then on to the Heather Brig trail to Millstone Hill, doubling back to the Millstone Hill Trail towards Scare Hill. Only the final couple of hundred metres to the summit are off-path, largely heather and felled forest debris. A forest road leads back to the visitor centre. 4.5 hrs in total. Great walk in lovely Autumn sunshine.summitter12/10/2019
Solo walk after arriving by plane into Aberdeen (set off 5.00pm!). From Bennachie centre to Mither Tap (much the best summit on Bennachie with an impressive Iron Age fortification) to Oxen Craig. Return via Craigshannoch and Mither Tap (just missing summit) and retrace ascent. Fine paths through. Great views over Aberdeenshire lowlands. Weather stayed dry despite ominous looking shower clouds over hills to west. Time 3 hours.jamessteel10006/08/2019
First real hill walk after heart attack. Walked with Dougie Mitchell.Donaldson06/06/2019
From Mither Tap, along some of the most frustrating paths I have ever encountered - inefficiently meandering about, up and down, seemingly for no purpose other than the sheer hell of it. But, better than flogging through the heather.Isbjorn24/05/2019
Good path from Mither Tap with Marli. Descended through heather to SE to reach path to Millstone Hill.bolton20/02/2019

Excellent linear walk - Black Hill, Watch Crag, Oxen Craig, Bennachie, Millstone Hill. Highly recommend if two cars available. Good paths throughout. Popular hills, friendly walkers.carole engel22/10/2018
Took train from Aberdeen to Insch. Walked SE on road to turning for Back o'Bennachie carpark. Steep but well maintained path up to Little Oxen Craig, then the summit at Oxen Craig. E over the moor to Mither Tap with its spectacular hillfort. Down the path to Bennachie Centre. Then along minor roads to Burnhervie. North through woods to East Aquhorthies stone circle and on roads to Inverurie station. 26km.PiranhaFish06/10/2018
Reached from the Bennachie Centre via Mither Tap on a clear, sunny morning, but windy on the summit.Windy Corner26/07/2018
