From SE. Parked on a short track into Blacksmith's Wood, about 70m SW of junction - NW along lane & then W. along forest track to gate W. of summit at SJ 1617 1027 - Up over sheep pasture to high point on W. side of fence & then through gate to high point on E. side (the spot ht location). Using Abney level, it appears that the summit lies on W. side of fence. | gerrybowes | 02/04/2023 |
Accessed via the ROW running through the woods to the south. Once it reaches the sheep fields due west of the summit then its easy to strike directly for the top. Returned via the track to the NE - Bwlch-coch. | summitter | 27/05/2022 |
Domed grassy field accessed from forest track. Superb clear sunny views. | Denise | 14/03/2022 |
From track to W. Over pasture with new fences and neatly trimmed oaks. Feels more like estate than farmland. Levelish grassy summit ridge, high point unmarked. | RichardM | 14/03/2022 |
Took the lower track from the east and then onto pastures. Great views. | Campbell Singer | 20/01/2022 |
Parked at 16969 10489 and went through the gate. The lesser track that goes left uphill immediately after the gate leads through the woods and out into pasture before petering out close to the summit. | clivevilla | 28/02/2021 |
From ne, track most of way. Spot ht in pasture; pasture W side of fence possibly higher but poor visibility | RHW | 27/03/2017 |
Cursing my choices when I dropped to the col between this and its near neighbour. Went direct through boggy dead brush and eventually picked up the track. Top is all grass with an unusual spiky looking tree. | stig_nest | 25/04/2016 |
A round of Big Forest, Moel y Sant, Pen Pant-mawr (Bank Wood) and Bryn Fron-fawr - plus Bwlch Clump (SJ 170 108) in case Myrddyn revises his calculations. Tried to optimise the use of PRoWs but a number on the map have been effectively eliminated on the ground. | summitsup | 11/02/2016 |
