Followed the route described by summitter. Surprisingly pleasant hilltop with trig on natural ground. Solo.Dangerous Dave02/10/2023
Parked in an A920 lay-by at its junction with the minor road to Kirkton Farm. Up past farm and cemetery onto turbine tracks. At the first Turbine there is a tramped path on its left-hand-side which runs along a fence line towards the summit. Once at the high point of the fence it's a simple matter to hop over and skirt some old slate diggings to the top.summitter28/09/2023

Parked at the layby at NJ650326. Hopped over the road and turn right up the track to Kirkton farm. Straight up past the old church and followed the track all the way to the middle turbine. Continued on the track beyond this. Hopped over the fence at the most convenient point then on to the trig point. Great views to all the other local Marilyns.nathan7910/07/2023

Parked at the side of the B992 at NJ6564633289. Walked north along road and then uphill via track shown on 1:25000 map. Found a car parked at NJ6565733771 so that might be a possibility. North from the middle turbine through the quarry. Small fence to cross the direct line to the trig. Back same way.andy macp01/05/2022

Parked at the church and an easy walk up the path to almost the summit. Needed to jump a small fence the faint path the rest of the way. It looks like the locals park a bit further up from the church where there is space for a good few cars at a hut.Pilotralph 13/02/2022

Room for one car at the elbow on the road at 644 348, then back along the road to follow the track through a few pines then follow it up through a couple of gates then took the left track before striking up past the spoil heaps and onto the trig. Great views.Peterb13/11/2019

06.30 from south windfarm track windmill at about 310m.vegibagger06/07/2019
Not as straightforward as I expected - track from Kirkton Farm appears to end at a wind turbine that is not shown on the map. Found myself in an area of old quarries with a fence to cross before reaching TP at summitButeobuteo28/05/2019
Parked in church lay-bay at NJ648326 - not recommended - difficult to exit as vehicles come round corner at speed. Up track, N, to meet trees and zig R at control cabin, then zag L to middle turbine. From turbine straight up on track, then thin path to BWF - 50m L of fence apex the top BW strand is missing, affording a safe crossing.Isbjorn24/05/2019

Mapped track from South (Kirkton Farm). Track ends NJ 6488 3435 - not mapped to here. From here (a turbine) old track continues up fence line. Must decide when to strike off up hill - sooner better, once steepness easescarole engel24/10/2018
