From corrugated, roadside bldg near the chapel. Direct over rough ground to Yell trig pillar first, then onto the hill top.jonglew22/08/2018
From the red barn at Otterswick, roughly along the line of the river to the trig and then an endless plod across the moor to the summit. Contoured along the side back to the watershed and the stream. Jon Glew says that Arisdale is ancient Norse for arse crack, and is an apt description of this brown, hairy, damp and smelly hill.Gill22/08/2018
From Arisdale over the top and trig and down to Otterswick. All bog, but fairly dry and smooth until the final descent.PeteN14/08/2018
From Otterswick via the trig.NormanW23/06/2018

Parked opposite church at Otterswick. Kept stream in sight and up onto ridge and to the summit.Coinneach24/05/2017
Parked at the start of the track to Arisdale farm. Followed the track and white posts up the valley (which eventually lead to an aircraft wreck which crashed when looking for the Tirpitz) but not knowning how far it was to the crash site, left these to gain the ridge that heads NE to the quartzite summit cairn. Returned more directly to the track, south of Arisdale farm. Found out later the wreck is at 481853mindlessflogger27/08/2016
Parked HU515855, at tin barn in bend, followed tributary to ridge/cairn. Easy going, peat hags, warm, sunnyiangalbraith27/08/2014

Parked by church near Otterswick (17:40) and walked up moor to Ward of Otterswick trig pt (18:15) and along the broad ridge to the summit. Overcast and rather hazy. Returned more directly to the car (12:20). Fairly easy going; heather not too long.dbb26/08/2013

W Jenx, Tricky and Doug. End of hills on Yell. Toughest so far, from nr pt 88 to NE of hill, very undulating through hags. Damp underfoot and mist swirling. Battled on to gain cairn top, descend back over trig. Back down burn line to point 51 on NE road. Would be better way up!nordicstar30/05/2013
Last of the day, drove about 500m up Glen Arisdale. Summitted at 1800 as the evening mist was starting to move in on the unbroken sushine. Down for the 1920 ferry with about 40 minutes to spare.Topographer5728/05/2013
