7 mile run with Pauline .. Waltwood and Wilcrick .. Parked in the Spar carpark in Underwood .. good path up to the dam through woods just before the jct to Bishton Rd .. lovely out and back lanes to Wilcrick | milejunkie | 29/10/2023 |
Easy parking near junction to NNE. Path opposite goes up to reservoir, then around reservoir perimeter. Returned on path which emerged between 63 and 65 Waltwood Road (parking nearby). | PGCE | 22/04/2023 |
From gap in fence at end of willow way in underwood. A very wet day following dog walk tracks through trees. | cjo | 18/12/2022 |

Walked around the perimeter fence which includes GR given. As RHW states, ground inside compound is no higher and the fence was insurmountable as far as I could see with two men mowing the grass. | clivevilla | 15/08/2019 |
From the northeast end off Underwood village, up the path through the wood, then southwest along the track by the reservoir and up the bank to the highest point inside the compound, and through a gap in the fence to the highest-looking points in the nearby field | Mariana Trench | 10/05/2018 |
From Underwood , parking at end of lane betweeen bus stop and school | Pip56 | 09/05/2018 |
From Underwood on path through the woods. Followed path around outside of reservoir compound. HP in pasture. | PeterD | 08/12/2017 |

Reservoir gates locked. | arranc | 11/01/2017 |
From RoW starting E side of resr, up thru wood, circuit of compound visiting both summits; ground no higher inside fence. Tony's HP SE side of resr is 65co not 70m, hence the 68 spot ht wins. Dropped phone on way up so no gr. Got down, eventually found phone thanks to nice lady in Tesco van who rang it for me. A car parked at resr gate with someone sitting inside all the time I was up there and gates open when I got down but saw no one up there. | RHW | 16/10/2016 |
Thanks to jonglew for route and info. | Dusty | 24/07/2016 |
Looked for path up from Underwood, through The Routs Wood, but new house construction at end of Willow Drive may have blocked off that route, may be a path by side of school. Eventually parked at reservoir access gates (ST 3911 8890), over low fencing, then through breeched chain-link fencing and along side of impressive large Tata Steel open reservoirs to 68m spot height in sheep pasture at SW side of reservoirs. Couple of mounds further SW contested HP, but settled for ST 38637 88588, a few metres SW of the spot height. | jonglew | 23/06/2016 |
Parked car just on entrance to Underwood. Up path through woods and the alongside deep reservoir tanks, over severely damaged chain link fence to summit. The signs about trespassers seem to be generally ignored so access from north may be easier. | Campbell Singer | 18/05/2016 |
Did 62 m top last week but cam back to do official summits which don't seem much higher. Newport completion. | Adrian | 24/10/2015 |
Parked in Llanwern village, marked path through wood and across pasture. | Ramblingpaul | 17/05/2015 |
From Underwood, path towards Llanwern then through woods to top. Went first to 68m spot height, then to SE side of reservoir where 1:25000 map shows small 70m contour at ST389885. | Tony J | 17/05/2015 |
