From Byrness Church. Ravens Knowe --> Greyhound Law --> Hungry Law. I seemed to avoid the horror terrain (and all trees) by this route: https://imgur.com/a/yr3M35n. Blizzards aside, a nice walk.Matt31/01/2023
From the Carter Bar layby at 69790 06814, waled to Woodplaw Edge, Leap Hill, Hungry Law and Greyhound Law with a detour to Lumsdon Law on the way back. Glorious Autumn day. 4 hours 54m 11.93 miles mostly on ATV tracks. The last bit from the fence to Greyhound Law is quite tough going through heather with my foot going down about three feet on several occasions causing me to fall over on at least five occasions. Not great when you are nearly five miles from the nearest road.clivevilla18/10/2022
Drove forest road starting NT 7587 0312 for ~4.5km to park at pull-in NT 7578 0597. HEaded due N through sparse conifers to border then along to Hungry Law first. Backtracked and up onto a prominent small mound at NT 7607 0635 due N of Greyhound Law. Then hopped fence and through very sparse plantings but very rough ground to the top. On return dropped S then SE through easy trees to pick up forest road. An easier than thought 4k round.jonglew04/04/2022
Kale Water, Nether Hindhope to Blackhall Hill, Brownhart HIll, Ravens Knowe, Byrness, Spithope, Greyhound Law, Hungry Law & return to Hindhope. Overcast, dry & mild with sunny spells near Byrness.Vin29/08/2021
Parked just off A68 NT760~030 Good forest road to just E of summit Over very rough ground to HP. Onto Ravens KnoweAndrew Simmons22/03/2021
Parking at Chew Green. Pennine Way to N edge of forest at NT775075. Along N edge of forest to forest road at NT7641306814. Hard going through boggy, tussocky grass [would have been much easier continuing along the Pennine Way for 200m and taking the path that leads to the forest roads]. Along forest road to just E of Greyhound Law then off-piste to the summit. Horrible - straight down into water filled holes above the gaiters at least half a dozen times. Continued NW to rough, grassy moorland and a fairly easy walk > Hungry Law. Returned avoiding Greyhound Law!JohnR21/09/2020
From car park near Chew Green at NT 794 085, visiting Brownhart Law, Greyhound Law, Hungry Law, Ravens Knowe and Thirl Moor. Less windy today but still very wet underfoot. A combination of the PW, forest roads and the ATV tracks aided progress, but struggle through trees and bog to get to summit of Greyhound Law. 21km with 570m ascent in 5h30m. Linear walk aided by mae and his car.jimbloomer21/10/2019
Hungry Law > Greyhound Law from GR: NT 75866 03126Hippster28/09/2019
Hungry Law > Greyhound Law from GR: NT 75866 03126 NB I had Greyhound Law alternative summit at 481m v correct summit position at 476m on two different gps units indicating the grass mound outside the forest is higher.ronaldo33328/09/2019
Possibly the worst hill ever! Wet ground from Hungry Law then over the fence into the forest to highest point. Flat, boggy, heathery, holey and felled trees; awful! The grassy rise outside the forest would be a better summit. Solo. Back same way.Dangerous Dave20/08/2019
Circuit Greyhound Law, Leap Hill, Lumsdon Law. Parked track junction NT 7582 0358. Good track to top. Continued E thru' sparse but very rough forest. Once over fence, improving deer trod/atv all the way to Leap Hill. Tussock S to wall and atv at approx. NT 7276 0580 (very obvious). Dropped off SW to Whitelee farm where I left bike. Vegetation necessitated deviation S once down to final wall (NT 7137 0516) on rough grassy track to main road.carole engel30/07/2019
As moorsman, parking at 760,030. Very good forest road to just east of summit, then over very rough ground to summit. Also visited Aye Jimmy's alternative top [looks lower] which is actually over the border fence in Scotland!Crib Goch27/06/2019
As everyone elses logs suggested that I hadn't, in fact, reached the correct summit (pre GPS days) I decided on a revisit. Parking area at the start of the bridleway on the A68 (alt 243m). A marathon walk along excellent forest roads to just east of the summit. Only 123m from the forest track to the summit, but lots of hidden holes and drainage channels. Fell in four times on the way to the top but got back to the forest road unscathed by jumping between the tussocks. 10.5km return. 2hours. 385m ascentmoorsman02/09/2018
With Jo, from Chew Green. Followed PW, then fence until we saw track below which was then followed until ESE of Greyhound Law, then spent an eternity crossing brash etc to the top and its possible alternative. Continued along fence to Hungry Law. Returned same way but omitted GL main top by following fence east until alongside track and then used BCW path and PW back to car. Weather; cloudy but warm in the main but rained on return. Good visibility.amblerbob08/05/2018
A diversion from the forest road. Be careful! Deeply rutted and hard to get across. Fell into holes 2/3 times. Estimated the high point. Solo. Headed to Brownhart Law.bolton13/01/2018
With Hungry Law from ByrnessMoorponder07/07/2017
From Carter Bar - Wooplaw Edge, Leap Hill, Hungry Law, Greyhound Law. Last 200m very rough going in felled forest to vague summit area with several tussocky bumps and heathery stumps. There's also a grassy rise outside the felled area that may be as high. Then back to Leap Hill, across to Lumsdon Law then walk up road to Carter Bar.Aye Jimmy13/05/2016
Carter Bar, Carter Fell, Wooplaw Edge, Lumsdon Law, Hungry Law, Greyhound Law, Hungry Law, Leap Hill, Wooplaw Edge, Carter Bar. Wet paths for the most part except for the contour to Lumsdon Law and the heather clad top of Greyhound Law.ijpowell14/04/2016
Border run from Carter's Bar with Goska, hopped fence and tried not to fall down too many holesMountain Goat25/03/2016
Bagged with Dusty after parking at Carter Bar. Wooplaw Edge, Leap Hill, Hungrey Law, Greyhound Law and then Ravens Knowe before heading to the Cottonshope road to walk back to collect Dusty's car from the campsite opposite this road beside the A68.Dugswell228/09/2015
On return from Hungry Law. Wished I had missed it. Summit in felled area. Cannot see 'holes' in ground. Twice went through to knees in muck and bullets.destaylor13/08/2015
Caching trip around these tops and picked up some tops on the way. Cold, damp and dreary, but enjoyable.Walker Dan26/11/2013
w. Darren. Dewey bagging from Byrnes YH. I had forgotten I had done Hungry Law before! - however gave a chance to clamber through 50 feet of brashings and thick heather to detour onto Greyhound Law then followed border fence to Brownhart Law above the (not much to see) Chew Green Roman camp -PW back over Raven's Knowe.Chris Pearson03/08/2006
