Down the high level Pennine Way high level variant with brother, Pete. We visited the Tump summits just off the path. This is the nearest. We imagined PW completers coming this way- the 79 m. ascent, then the switchback to the jct with St Cuthberts way would pile on the agony! We were on a nice day's hill walk from Halterburn (ford).pwheeler11/09/2022

A before breakfast solo run form K. Yetholm YH, whilst Darren took car into be fixed. Took in Coldsmouth Hill (badger snuffling along) , White Law, and Black Hagg -a wanted Dewey(missed when I walked the P Way in 1984 which skirts close by). Fast run down thinking of Mike Cudhay doing the same when he ran the Pennine way in under 3 days after 'only 40 years of training'. Like him I tried to sprint the killer final uphill on the road before the village, but unlike him had only been out for a few hours not 3 days and nights. I can recommend his book 'Wild Trails to Far Horizons'Chris Pearson05/08/2011

The very last hill on the Pennine Way after deciding to finish it using the high level route. Actual top was the other side of a wire fence which, after 27 miles seemed like the Berlin Wall!moorsman05/08/2008
