Drive up the potholed road and park at Grid 0632-8232. Follow the path up along the wall to the gate at the crags, continue down and around the crags following the path (Boggy) up passed the house then head up to the trig point. Return by cutting across the field Northeast to the gate. Pick up the path that takes you passed the pond then follow the path up around the wood and across to the wall, follow it back to the start. | smocks and denims | 12/03/2024 |
Moorsman info excellent and easy to follow
The road in is potholed and also parking on verge can be a bit wet after a deluge | matty1971b | 30/12/2023 |

5/7 Medley of small hills in a sunny afternoon. a delightful area on a sunny afternoon. As others, parked adjacent to wall at the end of the bridleway. Did a full circle of the Crags, visiting Salter's Nick and the Trig. Many climbers out bouldering. | silveracorn_alan | 30/05/2023 |

From layby and up private road to the south. Lots of grassy paths to the top of this very pleasant hill. Nice to have a mooch around and still only 40 mins | Nicky C | 04/09/2021 |
Drive W along bridleway from Bolam West Houses to parking at the edge of the field (the crags are popular with climbers and walkers and I've never been there and there not be at least several cars). Continue W on foot to Salters Nick then S to HP. The crags are well worth a look if you're interested in sedimentary structures in sandstones. | JohnR | 13/08/2021 |
If travelling from the east (from Bolam) you can legally drive down the public bridleway as far as the field after the sheep dip. This is a free parking field and has a notice on the entrance stating that parking is permitted here but only alongside the wall. There were about 20 cars here on a summer Saturday afternoon. Saves about a mile of walking. Also, on reaching the open access, cutting directly across is challenging due to steep drops and cliff faces. Better to carry straight on to Salter's Nick (the final wall) and then head south towards the top along good tracks. | moorsman | 20/06/2020 |

Private road from S (signpost Shaftoe Grange/Ferney Chesters). Round R of buildings then steeply up wood. Pleasantly across open ground to trig on flattish top. Precise high point debatable. | Aye Jimmy | 21/04/2016 |
