From Seallam visitor centre during a week on Harris with J. A glorious spring day with views to match. Dragged ourselves away from nearby beaches for this. Over nearby gate, followed old raised earthwork and aimed at prominent pointy boulder a short way up the slope. Path up the prominent R to L diagonal ramp starts here. Up to col avoiding the primroses and along broad shoulder to summit. Lazed about watching ferry arrive into Leverburgh. Back along shoulder with diversion up Maodal worth it for the view. Back to car and into the exhibition which was worth the 3 quid admission.NotReallyABagger16/05/2023

Straight up to Greabhal from the Visitor Centre carpark. Sheep and deer tracks aid the ascent. Then along the joining ridge to Maodal, a fine view from its commemorative summit. Returned via the low point between the two hills.summitter16/09/2022
CP near summit of main road. Up track to dam and across bridge then challenging climb on steep heather to another good viewpoint. Carefully back down. 60 minsCoinneach08/09/2022

1/5. Greabhal and Maodal from Water Works gate. Then shift car down past pie shop. Ceapabhal, Ceapabhal North West Top and Gob am Tonbha (toes head). Lovely walk. Up from sheep pens and contoured back at end at about 150 - 200 metres to use the Leomadail gentle descent. Beautifulnickywood119/06/2019
A quick hill fitted in between trying to organise boat trips. I liked this a lot, great views and easy going. Parked at the Visitor Centre, across the road to the gate and vague animal tracks lead up to a grassy and heathery rake. Once below the bealach, strike straight up the hill on short heather and grass, quite steep, then wander up to the summit and loaf around enjoying the views.Gill29/05/2019
After a decamp for tea and cake while rain came over, short break in the weather allowing time to head up. Parking at the turnoff to Northton, over the road through the gate and followed a rising leftwards diagonal to the bealach and onto summit.N.Morters25/05/2019
Short and steep from 996888. Early morning snow had gone.NormanW04/05/2019

Maodal and Greabhal from layby just N of road junction to W. Fine small hills with excellent views.RobertP21/05/2018
Afternoon walk after Roineval with David Baird. Got bored with obvious left slanting diagonal from visitor centre car park and just went straight up. Pleasant. On to Maodal.Thearlaichdubh20/09/2017
With Charles Scott. From Visitor Centre (13:10) climbed more or less directly up to Greabhal (14:00). Good views. Continued along ridge to Maodal (14:40) and slanted down a faint path back to the start.dbb20/09/2017
Parked at NF996913 followed posts marking Hebridean way up to ridge, over Moadal to Grèabhal. Good views. Back same way looking for my sigg bottle. Found in the boot of my car. 2 hours 10rogreeves04/07/2017
Roadside parking at NF 9953 8926. On to Maodal first then across the saddle. Took a direct route W off the hill, down very steep heather slopes. Lower flat section looks like it can be quite wet at times.jonglew18/05/2017
From the south. Some steep heathery slopes but easy enough.AndrewFinnimore08/10/2016
Climbed with Mum and Dad as part of DMC trip to Harris. Got drenched.electricfox03/09/2016
Very fast from nearest point of road. Ran down. V steep. Nice day. View. Rounsfell04/08/2016
Started from NG036885 via Bleabhal, Meabhal, Bolabhal Sgarasta and Maodal returning across boggy ground to road near starting point. Noted presence of a newly constructed path/track leaving the road at approx NG027884 in a northerly direction with footbridge over inflow to Loch na Moracha. We crossed the same 'path' at around NG003908 and NG020894 although at both points it was an informal path (slightly boggier than the surrounding bog)raffemeister03/04/2016
Parked at the Seallum Centre in Northton, through the gate almost opposite and straight up the steep heathery slopes to the ridge and along to the top. Superb views. Returned via same route.martin_hall14/10/2015

Was feeling pretty run down after a very late night returning from the Pairc epic, so this short circuit from Leverburgh with Smudge was just what I needed to get myself sorted out again.Twice Shy21/09/2013

Started from the Seallam! Visitor Centre crossed the A859 and took almost a direct line to the top over very steep ground. Up and down in under the hour. Well worth the effort before catching the ferry to North Uist.garyhoney05/08/2004
Beautiful evening with time in hand before evening ferry to N Uist after a HOT day on Taransay. Lesley cycled on to Leverburgh whilst I left the bike for a speedy up and down from the west - for the most incredible and memorable hill and sea views in the perfect evening light.Chris Pearson24/05/2001
