Logged Descriptions  (logged by 30 users)ByDate of Ascent
From the small pull in on the access road, visited both areas.robertphillips26/03/2023
There are 2 pull-ins available on the road, then follow R of W which goes to the north of the trees however, a path leads into the woodland itself if no-one is around. Unbelievable to meet a fellow hill bagger herematty1971b26/03/2023
Straightforward walk, summit in pleasant pine woods. Judging by the number of footprints in the snow, the battered old 'keep out' sign isn't taken seriously.Wycombe Wanderer18/01/2023
Same route as others. A little worried about all the keep out and no trespass signs. Very easy top to bag.Andrew Simmons31/07/2022
The large parking area 300m down the Frankham Farm access track is blocked off by large stones but there are 2 pull-ins available or better still park at the turn off to the farm. Then follows what must be a record number of Private, Go Away, It's Ours, No Tresspassing notices. The R of W is shown as going to the north of the trees however, a path leads into the woodland itself. After a few metres a path to the summit leads off to the left.moorsman02/10/2021
Room to park at end of very minor road to E. Lots of 'Private no entry' signs discourage access to wood. Took the path round the N edge of the woodland, then over a fence and through some very dense undergrowth of bracken and bramble to the HP.JohnR20/09/2021
Walked via the ‘Blue Lagoon’ from Fourstones, visited the overgrown summit, then on to Carr Edge plantation.Christo197929/11/2020
Lots room to park at end of tarmac NY 8909 6895 but could drive up track to popular dog walkers' parking area at NY 8878 6892. Old track NY 88625 68953 passes close to top. Old track NY 88699 68924 goes over alt. top. So much easier than expectedcarole engel22/04/2019
In Moonlight, after the much more pleasant Warden Hill. Former, filled- in landfill site with methane etc warnings. Generally disturbed ground with overgrown, brambly and waterlogged tracks. Identified apparent HP on brambly mound.Denise 17/03/2019
From east along track to farm then PROW. Brambles and rough terrain. deep quarry to south.cjo17/03/2019
From the E, surfaced track past closed and landscaped landfill site then wide muddy tracks into open pine forest with various mounds and ridges. High point a grassy/ brambly ridge with solid outcrop of sandstone on its N side.RichardM17/03/2019

From Warden Hill. Same approach as RHW.chrisbien03/04/2016
From e via RoW. AJs two summits, no idea which is higher. Interesting area albeit brambly in placesRHW13/03/2016
Took grassy lane W from minor road to SE instead of metalled one to Frankham Kennels, a mistake. Led round south side of wood into complicated quarried area in woodland. Knoll with pines NY 88517 68966 or woody ridge NY 88656 68877 suggested as summits. Returned down other lane, much simpler and easier.Aye Jimmy03/02/2016
Parked in layby opposite Electricity compound at NY895,686. Walked north up the road, then west along surfaced b/way past the old Landfill site - now restored. The actual summit is inside the walled wooded area which has KEEP OUT and DANGER signs all over - a former quarry.Climbed the wall to what looked as high a point as any, but hard to determine in woodland.Crib Goch01/11/2013
Near to home, so easy to access.Walker Dan15/02/2005
