Parked between two gates near aerial to the NNE then walk across drier than normal bog to trig.Dugswell223/08/2022
From N- tiny place to park on bed by aerial. Over boggy field to trig. Unremarkable.Denise 08/03/2022
From road to N with one friendly bog to cross.RichardM08/03/2022
From road corner to the north like others. Very boggy!Alan Caine19/02/2022
Yes indeed, parking is very easy at the bend in the road to the north IF IT IS DRY! After heavy rain the verges soon become saturated and car wheels risk becoming entombed. I managed to park face on to the fence between the two gates hoping that no access was required for the next 20 minutes. 4 small boggy areas not a real problem.moorsman05/02/2022
Boggy depression on short approach from NE is oddly marked as Open Access when all around is not. This unfashionable rather dreary flat hill can boast 3 notable constructions close by. In first place has to be Hadrian's Wall with its milecastles and half mile turrets running along the S slope. Next - very obvious on the map is the neat parcelling up of the land into numerous small fields all about with their walls and hedges -a result of the country wide Enclosure Acts from 1604 across England and & Wales and still at the heart of the debate of the Tragedy of the Commons v greater productivity in private ownership. Lastly a wild card construction -hidden further away in the forest to the NE -is the once secret RAF Spadeadam base - the former Cold War blue streak rocket testing site and launch silos - now primarily Electronic Warfare and explosion and fire safety testing e.g. oil pipe destruction (having the worlds largest industrial explosion chamber).Chris Pearson15/12/2021
As others from the bend in the road.Andrew Simmons26/09/2021
