From yellow Road near Junc 37 of M6. Good parking at junc with A684. Walked up yellow Rd to gate on R. Followed track then path NE to summit. Return same. On journey from England to ScotlandLynnebe29/05/2023
Previously had bad experience on extremely narrow minor road adjacent to summit,so parked near Goodies on B road.Utilized path via Hill Top-moist and overgrown in parts, but otherwise good.Excellent all-round views from cairn. With Oscar.catman07/04/2023

Kendal to Sedbergh bus dropped me at end of lane to south. This hill and Knotts - both easy and with time to catch the next (and last) bus back to Kendaltrimarc221/11/2022

From Knotts vis minor road and RoW to the south of the summit. Easy slopes up to summit. Returned to road the same way. KeithByTheC12/06/2022
From SE where FP crosses road, quick ascent to top with C and then onto Knotts.PeterD21/12/2021
On drive to Sedbergh to collect L who had walked 15 miles there on Dales Way from home. Fab views of the steep sided mighty Howgills which have the happy luck of being close to The Lakes - which draws the crowds away . On single track met the world's fastest reverser -farmer in is hilux who kindly zoomed back hundreds of metres to a gap for me, and then farm lorry brushing both hedges who also reversed uphill round a corner with confident ease. More vehicles encountered on this hill -which is a motorbike scrambling venue for the Westmorland Motor Club -founded 1910. 3 scrambling bikes seen on summit just before I plodded up there. Technically this noisy mess is just outside the extended (2016) Yorkshire Dales National Park boundary which runs along the minor road to the east. Amused to see the 'Goodies' place name down to the east - the catchy theme tune and 3 seat bike springing to mind from the 1970'sChris Pearson12/09/2021
Quick ascent over ground scarred by off road vehicles. Nobody about and a very fine view.fasgadh24/07/2021

Solo from A684 lay-by, in front of brown “Western Dales” sign at SD 61461 91695. Kirkbank, Knotts & Firbank Fell. Best bit was Fox’s Pulpit.ADT09/08/2020

2/4 Knotts, then Firbank Fell, both from parking beside the Fox's Pulpit Quaker preaching site (interesting) and then Kirkbank and Summerhouse Hill. Uninspiring hills on a drizzly day but gets them donenickywood104/01/2020

From minor road verge to SE at SD 61637 94244. No walls to cross as the one shown south of summit on 25k map is ruined.David Gradwell17/04/2015
Dash out to complete this, easy from minor road to East.nordicstar08/02/2015
Farm hands repairing wall at shortest approach, so longer route from N. Good parking at SD 6142.9494. Two gates close together, one further S taken, broad track followed round back of hill. Summit grass and sedge, slight dome with fence posts lying around. Off-roaders have made a right mess of back of this hill.Aye Jimmy25/11/2014

Parked in gateway of Westmorland Motor Club for a few minutes. There is a stile about 300m up the road giving access to summit. With DL.chriswatson14/03/2014
Small space to pull in a car just south of the highest point of the road. The difficulty is negotiating the roadside wall. Fortunately this has been patched up with wooden railings enabling everyone but the severely arthritic to find a gap to suit them.moorsman05/03/2014
Rough grass & heather, a scatter of fenceposts.RHW16/02/2014
