From Fox’s PulpitNick Caunt23/02/2023
Used scheduled bus Kendal to Sedbergh to drop me at start of minor lane to south, then up from Fox's Pulpit. Easy but had to ensure I caught the next (and last) bus back after also ascending Firbank Hill. Fox was a preacher who in 1652 spoke to 1000 people at this spottrimarc221/11/2022

From Fox's Pulpit, like everyone else. I visited a few possible alternative summits but nothing was obviously higher than the listed outcropColin Crawford09/10/2022
Roadside parking just down from Fox's pulpit.Flatfield17/07/2022
Up Row from Bridge End on River Lune. Then north up minor road to gate leading to Fox's Pulpit and open fell. KeithByTheC12/06/2022
After Firbank Fell with C. Walked along road, up through gates and back via Fox’s Pulpit.PeterD21/12/2021
On drive to Sedbergh to collect L who had walked 15 miles there on Dales Way from home. A fine viewpoint to the smooth steep crag-less slopes of the Howgills and long views south down the rural Lune valley. Interesting connection here to founding of the Quaker Movement with a well written metal plaque explaining Fox's Pulpit. I stood atop (possibly) the same rock where George Fox had sat on another sunday 369 years ago (as the chapel was full) preaching to a thousand AND writing a detailed journal account afterwards - which has survived.Chris Pearson12/09/2021
From Fox's Pulpit. Very good contour detail on this hill.fasgadh24/07/2021
Parked next to the graveyard because we had been told it was a hard slog up the hill! Then climbed to the highpoint for a picnic.RowanP01/05/2021
From Goodies Farmhouse up BW, thence to Fox's Pulpit and Knott, then along lane and short hop to Firbank Fell, returning via Hill Top Farm.milimana23/12/2020
Solo from A684 lay-by, in front of brown “Western Dales” sign at SD 61461 91695. Kirkbank, Knotts & Firbank Fell. Best bit was Fox’s Pulpit.ADT09/08/2020
Parked by Foxs Pulpit which is indeed interesting and went to Firbanks Fell and Knotts.clivevilla28/07/2020

1/4 Knotts, then Firbank Fell, both from parking beside the Fox's Pulpit Quaker preaching site (interesting) and then Kirkbank and Summerhouse Hill. Uninspiring hills on a drizzly day but gets them donenickywood104/01/2020

Wide verge parking by sheep pens(?it was pitch dark) at SD 6189 9363. Nice knobbly ground. Penultimate of a 10 tump afternoon; in high winds and heavy driving rain.jonglew28/11/2018

Knotts from GR: SD 61900 93625ronaldo33324/02/2018
Unremarkable top but at least there were good views to the Howgills. Access onto the fell is via a kissing gate just to the right of a small burial-ground. A stiff breeze made it a bitterly cold day, Done with Fenton.Chris Terrey 25/01/2018
With Tony G, Graham B. Cool breeze, some sunshine! From Gateside-Thwaite (footbridge gone so to avoid deep wade pleasant walk along river to roadbridge near Crook of Lune)-High House-Fox's Pulpit and graveyard-Knotts-Bridge End-Branthwaite-Thwaite-Gateside.zoob13/03/2017
Approached from the road to the west and George Fox's pulpit plaque. Small enclosure and graveyard- church moved to valley. The plaque commemorates a three hour sermon given to 1000 people on 13/6/1672, said to be the founding of the Quaker movement. Our planned approach from the East bank of the Lune was thwarted by the washed out footbridge at Thwaite and we did not fancy wading across the wide and bouldery ford point. There are several possible high points within 100 m and we visited most and used an Abney level to determine the HP. MIlitary jets flew past.Denise 13/03/2017
Blue sky, golden sunshine, great view of snowpatched Howgills, sudden stiff south easterly breeze. Took in south top just in case, arguably the finer summit with its rocky south ridge.Wycombe Wanderer04/12/2016

Parking spot just S of gate leading to George Fox's plaque, of interest to Quakers. Tiny graveyard nearby with headstone for one William Beetham d.1800. Short walk to nice summit with rocky outcrops and views of the Howgills.Aye Jimmy25/11/2014

Easy stroll for last Tump en route to Kielder with DL.chriswatson14/03/2014
Very difficult roadside parking as the verge and road are extremely narrow. After rain this becomes very muddy and there is a danger of becoming stuck. I took a chance as the road appears to be little used so it was a pull in as close as possible to the wall, wing mirrors in and a quick dash to the top (after reading the notice about George Fox)moorsman05/03/2014
Grass and outcrop summit. From Fox's Pulpit, memorial relating to early days of Quaker movement.RHW16/02/2014
