From Seatoller car park via good paths leading round east side to summit. Superb view of Castle Crag, King's How and Skiddaw, the gnarly environs resplendent in browns and yellows. Highly photogenic. Forgot my phone and camera.Wycombe Wanderer27/10/2019

Small detour on round walk from Rosthwaite to Castle Crag. Low level today as windy and risk of showers. Plenty of good paths and tracks on this fell, most of which not shown on OS maps. From riverside path, north through gate behind Glaramara Hotel, up steep grass path by stream to meet a wide gravel track, turn right and this meanders almost to top, approaching from east side. Great hill with 360o views of better known surrounded fells. Well worth the detour. Pre walk coffee in the excellent cafe at Borrowdale YHA.Hillsidenick06/02/2019
