On the way up to Rydal for 2 nights camping. Lovely area.Alfa1M26/03/2024
Parked between Farleton Fell and Hutton Roof Crags near pt. 192 and followed paths, keeping near to the wall until the stile just below the HP. The slope is approx the dip slope of the strata as shown spectacularly by the limestone pavement just below. Visited big cairn below, then followed a wider, more grassy path a bit further E to return. Lovely walk in sunshine though hazy with blankets of cloud on high fells.pwheeler09/03/2024
A round out of Burton-in-Kendal bagging Dalton Hill, Hutton Roof Crags, Longfield Hill, Highheads Wood, Hunger Hills, Farleton Fell and Hanging HillPhilipChaston28/01/2024
Bec and Myla went to the theatre today so I made the decision to go for a walk up Farleton as I've passed it so many times. Parked in-between this and Hutton Roof. this was an amazing little walk from the get go. so many things to see and do and was perfect conditions. go to the top had a chat with an old lady who asked which wainwright she should start with and made my way back to the car.Scotty 2 Hotty06/01/2024

With Izzy and Margo. Very windy but always a good walk up here. 360 degree views.James McKnight29/07/2023
Well, if there is an easy way up I certainly didn't find it! Easy parking on the west side of Duke's Bridge then a straightforward walk to the decrepit stile giving access on to the hill. From here I took the obvious path upwards only to find it disappeared into steep scree. Kept locating small clear sections but I must have wandered off the recommended route. 2 hours 15 minutes return across nightmare terrain. The summit is on Holme Park Fell which is accessed via one of 2 stone stiles through the intervening wall.moorsman20/04/2023
Parked at the small layby near the top of the road between the two fells and did two short circular walks to visit them. Thick mist on this one but navigation was simple enough. Like many others, I've seen it so many times from the M6 and long wanted to visit.Jake99421/02/2023
Climbed from road to the SE, following obvious tracks. Visited Farleton Knott while I was there.JK27/08/2022
Hutton Roof Crags and Farleton Fell from the Dalton Crags car park using a whole series of footpaths and tracks. Have passed myriad times going up and down the M6 and wondered what was up here. Really pleased to have discovered it at last. A fascinating place.summitter22/05/2022

2/3 Hutton Roof then Farleton Fell (both revisits) then via Hutton Roof village to Longfield Hill. Nice new year's day walk with the LDWA Group. Visited both summit areas this time.nickywood101/01/2020
Hutton Roof Crags & Farelton Fell from road HP between hills. These are a must for lovers of limestone. There are a number of unmapped tracks (through scrub) on Hutton.ger05/05/2019
Lovely walk up from spot height 192 to SE. Grassy track N from SD 5509 7892 becomes more distinct and leads all the way to the top. There is a stile in the wall at SD 5427 8021 - easy to misscarole engel01/01/2019
From SD 5298 7936, roadside parking at wide junc. Took RoW to SD 5350 7926 whence a good unmapped track that leads all the way up. Nice twilight ascent and pitch dark descent. Great nighttime views south and west.jonglew30/11/2018

From high point on minor road to SE. Really pleasant walk to summit on grassy tracks. Much less vegetated than Hutton Roof Crags to SCrib Goch03/12/2016
Late in afternoon under heavy cloud - seemed like a real mountain after climbing lots of the little mounds to the north. Used my hands most of the way up and zipped my smock up tight against the squalls.Wycombe Wanderer04/11/2016

Parked on the canal bridge and followed the fp up the gentler slope to the north, fascinating on the topbardolph16/09/2016
Known to us as 100 mile hill as it is exactly 100 miles from Sheffield to this distinctive hill rising above the M6 and the turn off to the Lakes and adventures. Today finally climbed it as the 19th of 24 tumps on a 50km 14 hr walk / jog with Darren. Gorgeous sunny evening with great light to enjoy the pastoral views. Nice surprise grassy path from road to SE skirting the limestone all way to summit, then best of all over Farleton Knott and steep descent down the nose -scree. A cairn near summit had a pair of brasher boots with rocks in them neatly tucked under the cairn facing the Lakeland fells-and a child's windmill on top - a touching memorial to a fellwalker perhaps?Chris Pearson16/07/2016
