First hill of 2 day walk from Eskdale Green to Old Dungeon Ghyll via the Boot Inn. Great viewstrimarc203/11/2022
8/16 Simple and pleasant and over in a thrice from Garner Bank then a nice descent west but then a dreadfully long tussocky mile with scratchy dead bracken (on bare legs on this hot day) above forest edge with little in the way of sheep paths to reach Raven Tor where sheep nibbled grass finally reappeared.Chris Pearson26/03/2022
Ascended on BW, up the zig zags, first to Garner Bank then across to the cairn on this one. Nice little hill.PeterD22/07/2021
Parked at Forge Bridge. A lovely walk up the zigzag footpath onto the fellside. Great views from the cairn. A hill well worth visiting. With Alfie.Dangerous Dave20/04/2021
Debs & Tali, heading back to car after Rowantree How.Mountain Goat27/03/2021
An indistinct roadside gate, wet and rough beyond, until the good sled path is reached, then, a lovely climb up to an old upland grazing/ crop area. Brantrake itself is a lovely Tump. A good rocky top with excellent views along the Esk estuary and 180* up to Scafell and beyond. with Jack and Cadpig.Karmakarl12/01/2021
Garner Bank, Brantrake Crags, Redbrow Bank, Smithy MireIWC16/10/2020
2/4 Parked just beyond bends on road down to Eskdale Green, walked up round the head of the Ghyll and strike over fell to Garner Bank, then on to Brantrake Crags. Down the lovely Bridleway to valley, use lanes to work round to footpath to West of Redfbrow Bank then over Redbrow Bank and Smithy Mire. Fantastic hot day, couldn't have done much more.nickywood101/06/2020
Via bridleway. On to Garner Bank.Wycombe Wanderer02/12/2019
With Garner Bank from minor road to ESE at SD 16828 98030.David Gradwell08/06/2019
Small parking spot at the start of the bridleway to the north west (difficult to spot the sign as it is low down). The first part, up to where the path starts to go uphill, is messy, stoney and wet, however this is lost as you climb upwards along a clear, dry track. Summit easy to spotmoorsman10/05/2019
