During Beinn Li hill race. Mhairi, Steven, Cathal and Rowan also participated. Steven and Rowan were on this top at the same time as me.langskill05/08/2023
North Lee and South Lee from standard approach path. Excellent views.RobertP17/06/2023
Waymarked path from the A867 to North Lee (NF 8949 6796); peeled away from that to the 87m spot height at NW end of Loch Lee and up onto South Lee first. Descended to E end of the loch and up from there. On to the NE Top and then the Ard nam Madagh trig and return for an 11.2 mile round.jonglew08/03/2023
Another fabulous North Uist Hill! Way-marked path, just follow the yellow posts. The circular route takes you left up to the trig via the aeroplane crash site (1943 Phantom). Continue following posts to summit. Amazing views. Spectacular! Solo.Dangerous Dave12/06/2022
Revisit. Waymarked path from WNW, on way back from Ard nam Madadh trigRHW26/04/2022
A misty, damp day. On the good way marked path then followed a water pipe off piste across the moor to a surge chamber and through a gateway up to Loch Lee. Up S Lee from the E end of the loch following deer tracks in line with the NE ridge, keeping below crags at the start, on the ridge nearer the top. Thick mist but one bearing OK for descent. Cut up NW to pick up the marked path to N Li followed this to the summit and down the other side, fainter path and well spaced markers not always easy to follow in mist. Walk out across the moor pretty tedious with all the up and down and no views.Gill06/09/2021
After South Lee approached from the col with CM. Great views north over Lochmaddy.bolton04/09/2021

Small pull of at mast, picked up the yellow topped poles. Onto southern hill afterwards.N.Morters02/05/2021

Followed way-marked route to N Lee, with David S. Descent to E end of Loch Lee then up to S Lee. Seemed a long way back to road. N lee walk is less distance than the 10miles info board suggests.ger08/10/2019
Following the yellow markers climbed via north top before doing North and South Leenickywood114/06/2019
Solo. Used the signposted path starting at NF896680. The path is marked by poles at intervals. Across grasslands and moorlands to the foot of the hill where the path divides to form a loop over the summit and the NE Top where there is a trig point. Had thought of including South Lee but the weather was deteriorating so I didn’t do that.pwbellarby01/06/2019
Followed the mellow yellow route for some fantastic views.Chris Peart24/04/2019

The North Lee waymarked path from 89495 67957 leads to summit and on to the NE top with trig although used my own route on the hill. Then on to South Lee.NormanW26/05/2018
Good parking at start of waymarked route 898 681. Followed yellow posts and occasional bridges across moorland. Went on to Li a Deas with close up Golden Eagle sighting in Bealach a Sgail.SteveG19/05/2017
Over the stile at NF898681 then posts lead you across the moor avoiding the worst of the bog. A couple of bridges, looks like they may be putting more in. Not sure whether this is permanent or just for the hill race in August.nicolajane23/05/2016
Along coastline and up North Lee. Over to South Lee and back to road using marker posts.AndrewFinnimore22/05/2016
Across the moor from the mast followong the marker posts. Surprisingly kept dry feet. Two lovely hills once you get there.jenx29/04/2016
With Jenx, following the yellow posts across reasonably dry moorland. The posts are indicative of the route, not the best line be warned! Direct up to the trig past memorial to crashed US B24 Liberator in 1943. From there over North Li then direct up from dam to South Li. Down NW grass/heather lines to moor and out.nordicstar29/04/2016
Climbed after Li a'Deas from bealach. Pleasant ascent. Mixture of bog, heather and rock. Round to north side before final ascent. Use yellow posts for descent or tick off TuMP as well.Campbell Singer05/04/2016
Parked at nf 892 679 on A867. Kept to North of the maze of lochs. With Mora.BLACKHILL08/05/2015
Did this one from the main road, ultimately following some intermittent poles. Very low cloud and driving rain made it significantly harder than the height should provide, to the point we decided not to undertake the small additional walk to its neighbour.dandaran03/04/2015
From the mast at 900682, past the tip of Bagh Leireabhagh and connected with a series of yellow tipped posts that lead all the way from 895680 to the summit. Back down to the bealach on to South Lee. Weather dry with hazy sunshine.Topographer5720/09/2014
Weather still holding up and the walking conditions today were superb.Alex C30/09/2013
This first ascent done as the 'Ben Lee' Hill Race, for runners and walkers. Met Rory Macdonald (of Runrig fame) on the descent. 2nd ascent 2 years later with family after doing the neighbouring South Lee first. Another classic North Uist Hill!pdantic07/08/2009

Entered Ben Lee Hill Race as walkers - crossed finishing line in Lochmaddy just ahead of Rory MacDonald of Runrig.PaulineD03/08/2001
Parked on the A867 near Stromban. This was a walk done at great speed as Warren And Rob Woodall competed for who could get there first. Took a free ride on the navigation front and let Rob guide us through the maze of sea and fresh water lochs.garyhoney02/08/2001
On verge where old road had been straightened. Wet trudge over swamp for 2 miles, dodging lochans keeping a close eye on both compass and map uphill to gate onto moor. Into bealach separating the 2 hills. Final scramble over deep heather to final boulders which form the top. 14.35. to South Lee.arranc02/08/2001
Date is first visit. Notes from later...fine rocky summit, decent scrambling. Stromban on A867 @ 900682 RHW02/08/2001
North Lee and South Lee from the radar mast. Repeated many times when early for the ferry.Eddie06/10/1997
