Gentle slope up from South to summit woodland.vegibagger25/05/2021
Initial track was overgrown but went through initial wood anyway. Tricky exit over wall with barbed wire. Fence to right of summit wall was easier to get overconanharrod03/03/2021
No RoW. Not in open access area.Isbjorn20/01/2020
Easy parking but an almost impossible summit from the road to the SE. Surrounded by a wall topped by tall pigwire. Walked a considerable distance each way but coudn't find a way in. Finally picked a spot and slid underneath between the wire and the wall. Enough room to negotiate the wall but found myself in deep vegetation. Tried to find a way through but impossible. With light now fading I tried for 20 minutes and got (according to my GPS) as close to the spot height as humanly possible.moorsman17/10/2019
Wide tracks mostly to the summit. Blue barrels hanging on trees at high point. A bit spooky! Solo.Dangerous Dave05/01/2019
From gate on lane to south, followed edge of Quarry Wood, then relatively straightforward through trees/ferns to summit. Went back to edge of wood and tried again from a different angle just to make sure.Wycombe Wanderer01/09/2018
Branthwaite Edge from GR: NY 05734 22733ronaldo33329/04/2018
Parked on wide roadside verge at the 155m spot height. Went up through Quarry Woods on faint tracks, return was easier along the SW edge of that wood. HP probably at the 199m spot height, but a contender found further N at NY 06129 23256.jonglew22/01/2018
Parked by spot height 154, went up side of Quarry Wood and across to Jackie Planting. It is defended by a stone wall topped by barbed wire fence, if you choose your spot it is possible to duck under the wire and nip over the wall, then there is a few yards of fighting ocergrown woodland.DC11main28/10/2017
A mile walk from Ullock pet sitting cottage up the road with Lesley and Molly the slow moving terrier. Met a woman walking part way home from Sellafield - long chat. She had never met anyone walking this road before. Left L hunting for blackberries on the lane whilst I carried a reluctant 8kg Molly through the swampy reeds and high grass alongside forest to firmer ground. Left her happily tied to fence post as I went over wall to short thrash to summit among the blue feeder bins. If you head N along wall it soon stops and is an easy fence to cross as I did on return before carrying Molly back to road for slow plod back to Ullock.Chris Pearson22/08/2016
From near crossroads. Gate then soggy ground onto hillside and following wood edge to another less than exciting top. Good views still.nordicstar10/04/2016
Parked at bend in lane to SE, then W edge of wood, bit of a struggle to get started. Thistle field into second wood with numerous ghastly blue plastic bins. Heavy with ferns at summit.Aye Jimmy30/07/2015
From S, summit in woodland is quite well hidden but obvious once found.RHW17/05/2015
