Morning 7 mile circuit in reverse with L. Sunny but chill NW wind still. Met local Nigel -former Head of Outdoor Pursuits -who seems to know everybody doing this popular loop for Kendal folk.Chris Pearson17/04/2024
What is this? Sunshine?! Still a fresh cold NW wind but very nice to feel the sun on the popular 7 mile circuit from Kendal onto Cunswick Fell and Scout Scar - runners. dog walkers aplenty as a Sunday - and even Hash House Harriers setting off blowing their hunting horn (!) - following their laid chalk marks. Went up N side of Serpentine Woods via Kettlewell Crag for a change.Chris Pearson14/04/2024
Another rainy wet dreary day to add to the Kendal collection. A 3 hr forecast pause at 10 am gave us our break from house sorting out. Into town then up the cut through steps to climb up through Serpentine Woods. On summit blowing strong wind and wet air into our faces - Kendal's version of not raining. That was far enough for today. Even the golfers were absent today - just a dog walker and a fell runner who kept slipping over in the mud on his run down towards us.Chris Pearson12/04/2024
Morning 7 mile (11k) circular walk in 2.5 hrs from home with L. Finally a dry day with no rain forecast! April ahs started very wet with 170% of the usual April rainfall having fallen in 10 days in some areas. Ground elsewhere saturated mud BUT NOT HERE as all limestone which drains perfectly leaving a carpet of smooth short grass - ideal for trail shoes. Unlike the mudfest last night orienteering in heavy rain across Kendal on The Helm.Chris Pearson11/04/2024
Morning walk with L from home before the forecast heavy rain began. On to Cunswick Scar.Chris Pearson10/04/2024

With L on a morning walk circuit from home. Heading back from Cunswick Scar.Chris Pearson25/10/2023
My first hill summited in golf shoes. The chip to the green landed close to the summit, so a quick wander round on possible high points seemed like normal behaviour to my playing partner. Got a par and a bag in one go!summitter09/10/2023
With Jim & Cat. Unfortunately Jus had got ill overnight, and we didn't want him to miss any Wainwrights, so spent our last morning in the Lakes doing an easy yet very pleasant loop out from Kendal to Kendal Fell, Cunswick Scar and both the Scout Scar summits. For Kendal Fell had to hide until some golfers passed, before completing a discrete, high speed summit bag.wheresthepath02/10/2023
Late afternoon 5 mile run from Kendal tempted out by sunshine between the showers. Dramatic shafts of sunshine on me from the westering low sun over the glistening Morecambe Bay but sweeping back curtains of rain all about. Up through Serpentine Woods paths -slimy damp mud on slimy damp limestone not the easiest running surface. Onwards to Cunswick Scar still in sunshine with great light with moody skies.Chris Pearson18/09/2023
Now living in Kendal and a revisit for a morning walk with L from home to Cunswick Scar and back - just to sadly confirm the Sept heatwave has really finished.Chris Pearson12/09/2023
No summit this time but pretty close hunting for a control on Serpentine Woods orienteering sprint event, before providing First Aid Cover and collecting controls in (and dropping one SI unit and then returning to find it next morning!). Boiling hot heatwave - very sweaty even in the evening.Chris Pearson09/09/2023
carpark NY48959245. path towards Cunswick to NY494939, then path over footbridge to summit bench. Looped back below Helsfall Nab and back over footbridge to Cunswick Scar.Flatfield17/09/2022
with PJB - super day and easy walk from Kendaltrimarc209/08/2022
Parking down The Tram, a small road due east of the summit. Follow the road until it passes gate and turn left into the woods. A track leads upwards to a well used path which passes a short distance from the top.moorsman05/08/2022
On way to Cunswick Scar and Scout Scar. Asked to get off golf course by member, for safety reasons. He was polite.russell6107/03/2022

Pea soup. Ran in to the bench on the summit as literally couldn’t see 6ft in front of me.Fionalevey13/01/2021
Loop from town up via clubhouse and down via the main footpath past Serpentine Woods. Beautiful blue skies, gorgeous weather.Fionalevey07/11/2020
From the club house car park. There is a marked fp until close to the top. The summit is at the front of a green so you have to wait until there are no golfers on that hole.clivevilla30/07/2020

It's a Golf Course. So please be sensible or people are going to get really annoyed.Ianto&Sue24/12/2019
Walked up from Kendal - 40 minute diversion from my walk from campsite north of town to the LDNPA office in the south of town where I was working for four days. Followed various paths from the east up to summit green.Herbert Anchovy13/08/2019

A walk on Christmas eve in stunning weather, with Jackie, Chris and young Albie the puppy. Very quiet on the course so enjoyed the luxury of a circumnativation of the golf green, avoided the posh grass !nickywood124/12/2018
From Scout Scar on the way to Kendal. I'd walked past it 5 days previously and not bagged it! I did it at dusk and so there were no golfers around. What a lovely place for a golf-course.Alan Moore16/12/2018
Golf course. Small parking area at SD 5111 9283. Wet afternoon, very wet, but still the golfers were out, not many though.jonglew20/09/2018

A warm front had moved in overnight creating a misty mild morning with the inevitable consequences for the state of the paths .Very treacherous underfoot. Done with Fenton.Chris Terrey 10/01/2018

6am on a lovely sunny summers morn with wet dew grass and sun glinting off rooftops of Kendal above some low mist. 20 years since last crossed this way but today veered a few extra steps onto and around the greenChris Pearson14/07/2016
