Logged Descriptions  (logged by 38 users)ByDate of Ascent
Parked on high point of road to the north of the hill. Gate into cow field. Simple walk up to the dual summit. Solo.Dangerous Dave24/02/2022
Parked at road junction to east and followed muddy paths over rough pasture to rock outcrop on a grey, cool, breezy day.Denise 02/01/2022
From road to N, gate in DSW then track/path to summit. High point a loose pointed rock in grass.RichardM02/01/2022
Super little rocky hill. Gate from bend to NNE. Grass badly damaged by cattle or bulls.GordonAdshead13/11/2021
Parked opposite the gate to the north, then (like others) up the track past the still young cattle to the summit. (S)silveracorn_alan29/10/2021
Easy parking to the north where a gate gives access to the open-access land. A straightforward couple of minutes to the top.moorsman12/05/2021
Parked on the gated road to the North of the hill at the col. Walked 100 metres down to the West to get through easy to open gate, and up the farm track almost to the summit. Minded out for the young cattle. No problems.nickywood114/09/2019

From road to north, through the cattle detritus, both rises visitedColin Crawford03/03/2019
From north.Wycombe Wanderer10/02/2019
From verge parking to N, over wall rather than gate but still but if a cattle morass all way to near summit. A fine rocky viewpoint. Back hugging the West side of hill finding better ground all way to gate.nordicstar10/02/2019
Good roadside verge parking (SD 2512 8710). Field gate then muddy and messy unmapped farm track most of the way. Farmer warned of coos & halfs, but didn't see them, only their mess!jonglew12/12/2018
Lots easy verge parking on fell road to north. Through metal gate and up farm track, very easy but muddy. Cows in field but farmer in tractor arrived same time as us to feed them so they unsurprisingly showed no interest in us. Did south top as well to be sure. Fifth and final fell of day, ran out of daylight to do any more.Hillsidenick19/11/2017
Cat Nest from GR: SD 25077 87122ronaldo33324/09/2017
Parked on road to north. Lots of cows and one bull. Hill is unremarkable.ijpowell31/03/2017
With Jo, from Subberthwaite Common: across Knott End Moss, through gate (courtesy of bull, cows and their calves) giving access from north to Cat Nest (two tops). Weather; sunny, cold wind, good visibility.amblerbob05/11/2016
Blawith to Water Yeat. Wall stile short way E of the gate. Cattle pasture with cut up, but currently frozen, ground & mucky tractor trail to feeder.Smudge16/01/2016
From NE, gate, seemingly abandoned pasture, deep grass. Both summitsRHW02/08/2015
Gate from N, not far but rough underfoot to couple of summits. Thought the one with the wobbly pointed stone was the higher.Aye Jimmy24/04/2015
A 3 hour low level circuit with L from Broughton along the old railway and country lanes via Rosthwaite (bought homemade chutney and marmalade). we were then followed by a placid basset hound with huge ears that apparently has a habit of following strangers. Farmer tipped off by a local and drove out to collect it from us a mile further on. Hellishly windy still on the tops (even on little peaks such as this) No April fool joke. Did both tops. Down through woods and nasty pathless main road (again)- back for lunch just before rain began.Chris Pearson01/04/2015
Both tops!peebs27/03/2015
As Jim. Rough pathless ascent. Summit is embedded single rock at SD 25009 86832. Rock outcrop c100m south could be as high. Baggers should visit both spots as summit rock is slightly loose and might one day be unearthed!David Gradwell18/04/2014
