Up from church. Steep track through the trees. Visted simons seat, a bench, before the adjacent cairn and grass area.cjo03/09/2023

Rejoined L at lunchtime at Witherslack village hall after my 3hr+ outing and her recorder group morning. 2 hour pleasant circuit over Yewbarrow whilst the sun dipped and its earlier welcome warmth soon vanished. The lower top with Simon's Seat offering the better views (and a seat!)than the summit looking down the lovely Lyth Valley out to sea (well-Morecambe Bay). Looped down via Witherslack School (rebranded Oversands) to visit Beck Head -an exquisite vigorous limestone spring / resurgence and passed our first ever pet sit at 'Dusty's the cat' 7 years ago. Our duties had included re-stocking the adjoining the Hiker's Barn DIY tea shop. Today we also had a nosey in passing at the deluxe eco bunkhouse and its owner's house recently for sale -with an amazing top Category A EPC. Very muddy cow churned fp through bushes back to Witherslack.Chris Pearson19/11/2022

Brief stroll for a picnic after buying plants at Abi & Toms. Parked in the layby just past the church and walked up the zig zag pathRowanP18/06/2022
There is a dedicated parking area, suitable for up to about a dozen cars, if you turn right directly in front of the entrance to Witherslack School. A short walk north along the road to the bridleway then head south towards the hill. Once you reach the boundary of the open access some paths lead directly up to the top rather than around the base of the hill.moorsman18/05/2022

Lunch in the churchyard; nice pivot benchmark on a window sill; chat with the groundsman - who informed me locals call this hill The Noddle. Woodland walk from RoW opposite the school; minor logging in progress but FPs all open. Nice open top with excellent views to the Whitbarrow Scar.jonglew09/07/2018

Parked outside the church and ascended by footpath from the bend in the road to the north. Paths can become confusing higher up due to forestry work. A vey pleasant open summit.JohnW05/04/2018
A dull overcast cold day. A pleasant walk but spoilt by tree felling and a slight thaw the combined effect of which turned much of the path into something resembling a WW1 battlefield. Parking very limited and could be a problem in summer. Done with Fenton.Chris Terrey 09/01/2018
