This could have been a wonderful viewpoint but it is smothered by the trees. Probably a lot better in winter when the leaves have gone. The cafe in Grange is closed on Fridays. | Alan Moore | 24/06/2022 |

Been past this little crag so many times, but never up. Borrowdale rainforest certainly lived up to its name today. All the mosses were very happy. | jenx | 20/02/2019 |
After Grange Crags with Jenx and Bryher. Pouring rain, made the ascent v atmospheric with the wet mosses and lichens. Back to car and homecto dry out | nordicstar | 20/02/2019 |
Came down off the ridges tired of trudging through snow. Bagged while eating a chunk of cake over style from empty campsite to the west NY 2497 1699. | Eddie | 01/02/2019 |
Solo. Nipped up here on my own as the rest of the family went to Grange for an ice cream. | Dangerous Dave | 28/05/2018 |
From Allerdale Way, access via a wall gap at the south end of the camping field, and stile opposite at SK 25031 16839. Gentle approach from this end. Left by descending to the previously mentioned stile - much steeper line. A great hill; mossy rocks at the summit make it a delight. | Moorponder | 18/04/2018 |
A pleasant rocky mossy outcrop within oakwoods. Accessed from Grange Village, following footpath southwest, then through campsite field and over stile in NE corner. Free parking in layby on road on east side of Derwent river, just N of grange turning. | Denise | 31/12/2017 |

From the double tiny car parks by the B5289 in Barrowdale at NY 25655 17665. Holm Fell (small detour) > Grange Crags (small detour) > King’s How - Grange Fell > Grange Fell [Brund Fell] > Ether Knott > Brown Dodd > Shepherds Crag (small detour). Terrain difficult from Brown Dodd to Shepherds Crag. Thanks to amblerbob for providing 10 figure grid references for the stile to access Holm Fell and the path junction & stile for Grange Crags. | David Gradwell | 14/04/2016 |
With Eire, Evan, Sail, Danu, Coel & Alfie. | Dangerous Dave | 15/02/2015 |
Bit crowded in Grange so parked down the road, but still only a short walk to a hill with sharp crest, in trees. Castle Crag looked quite imposing from this side. | Aye Jimmy | 07/12/2014 |
