Parked in the car park, close to the mini-roundabout. Went up via the Grange Hotel and Blawith Farm and onto the permissive route marked by white topped posts all the way to the summit. Back the same way but down to the road via the Netherwood Hotel. A lovely little hill with nice views from the summit fields.silveracorn_alan20/02/2024

Up track beside Netherwood Hotel, then followed paths and waymarks to top.Pleasant nature reserve. With Oscar.catman24/03/2022
Quick trip up from the Cumbria Grand Hotel, before the Rucksack Club Dinner. It got dark very quickly, so very glad of moonlight to get back down through the woods.GordonAdshead13/11/2021
The whole of the area, including the summit, is owned by the Cumbria Wildlife Trust and managed for public access. Car park by Blawith Farm with waymarked access right to the summit. Can park by the roadside further north along the road but there are 2 fences to climb .... although there is access through a deer gate if you can find it.moorsman14/07/2021
Grange over sands, through grounds of Cumbria Grand Hotel, track up hill, into nature reserve and onto summit, returning via footpaths in nature reserve and through grounds of Netherwood hotel to station (both permissive paths in hotel grounds)Lancylass17/09/2020
Parked to west in small layby at SD412792 with proper Nature Reserve path (not visible from road) all the way to summit. HP appears to be on grassed -over limestone pavement with thorny bush. Overcast. Limited views due to trees but nice spot and walk.Denise 01/01/2020
Parked a little to North on the B road, at horsey paddocks. Through one field, then open gate to next and summit area. Nicest so far in the daynordicstar13/01/2019
Quick up and down, over steep woodland, from a small dirt parking spot at SD 4111 7917.jonglew02/12/2018
Took the road to the W of the hill and found a layby on the bend at grid reference SD411791. From here a sign shows that access to the hill is encouraged and a path leads E to a track with then goes up the summit. Nice quiet summit area but I ended up with ticks all over my legs from the long grass, so don't wear shorts!Wheelsy25/07/2018
A lovely spot.Dugswell222/06/2018
6th and final top on a 15.3km route from the Wraysholme crossing to Grange over Sands station, climbing Humphrey Head, Applebury Hill, Wart Barrow, Hampsfell (WO) and Hampsfell, taking footpath to the North profiling around to use Fp heading SE through Eggerslack wood to cross fence and pasture into another copse to the corner where a footpath ascends through the Nature reserve to exit South of the summit and then an easy walk up to the outcrops and the knoll close by. Descent through the attractive woodland to pass by the hotel onto the main road and then to the station.Dazingdale02/04/2018
Walked several times, but this time lovely deer in the woods.nickywood104/02/2018
Overcast, 6 degrees C, still. From N. A herd of hungry sheep had clocked me before I even got out of the car I was rushed and relentlessly pursued by the seething, woolly rabble. Summit surprisingly peaceful. Spun my wheels in the mud trying to get out of the layby, covering my new car in mud. At least it looks like my car now.Wycombe Wanderer05/02/2017

As others, directly from layby with some woody scree and a wall at the top into elongated summit field.Aye Jimmy02/04/2015
Walked up Windermere Road from Grange, entered the nature reserve on a path at SD411791 and went straight up the steep slope to the top, enjoying a scramble on the limestone crags. I agree it's a bit of a gem this.Jake99424/12/2014
A wee gem in the Brown Robin Nature Reserve (Cumbria Wildlife Trust). Parking and entrance at SD 4111 7918. Ascend the track to a point 130m SSE of summit then double back.jimbloomer01/11/2013
