With a name like that I expected the trigpoint to be bright and white with a 'Smile for life'. The stiles are not for people with fat knees.Martin R12/01/2024
Managed to park at SE corner of Main Road junction. Then up footpath to very pleasant trig top, but through some horrendously narrow styles not at all crutch friendlyGordonAdshead19/11/2022
Very easy ascent from the east from the parking place on the A595 where a signposted right of way leaves. This RofW takes you by Ash House passing directly in front of it. After passing the house you come to a wooden gate ... DO NOT GO THROUGH IT. Although against natural instinct turn left before the gate and cross the garden and patio seating area. At the wall junction ahead a small gate gives access along the path. Passing through the first gate leaves you on the wrong side of the wall.moorsman12/05/2021
Last summit of the day from layby on A595conanharrod21/02/2021
From Broughton in Furness via FP.. Easy except I had a bad.hip injury. Through buildings below trig and easy ascent as all gates open. Wonderful viewpoint.trimarc226/02/2020
Tucked the car in at the end of the lane. There is not much room but it can be done without blocking the gate to the stables.DC11main25/01/2020
2/2 The Knott, parked in back lane at parking space on kink in road opposite bridleway (unsigned). Through gate, up diagonally and steep through edge of woodland to access top avoiding all the bracken by going slightly past the top and doubling back up edge of small woodland area. Then over to Coal Gate Bank using footpaths and road all the way for this one.nickywood123/09/2019
Parked at the higher junction on Windmill Hill. A busy road to walk along, you can cut through a field to the RoW just before the holly hedge removes any possibility of stepping off the road.Jim.Fothergill18/04/2019
Parked on road to north, then up very muddy footpath to trig and topColin Crawford02/03/2019
Just room to park on lane to NE at start of nice FP.Wycombe Wanderer10/02/2019
Parked at lane end by farm. Up RoW for 100m then branch off left to field gate. Through that and left along wall to trig and top areanordicstar10/02/2019
Squeezed the car in at start of Back Lane (SD 2180 8683), not ideal but it worked. Back up the road to SD 2173 8659 where a RoW leads up to the hill top.jonglew11/12/2018

Used RoW from N. Rocks just to S higher than trig S.5383. Got mobbed by Balwens.Aye Jimmy02/05/2015
A predicted horrible day of gales and rain limited us to a short 2 hour leg stretch in a brief dryish spell to this little hill near our cottage in Broughton. The Helvellyn fell top assessor later wrote 'there are many adjectives to describe the weather on the summit today, but for those of you reading this before the watershed I will just say it rained heavily, without a break , driven by storm force winds'Chris Pearson24/12/2014
Parking at junction at SD 2178 8682. Good access on RoW.jimbloomer30/01/2014
With Jo, linear walk from Grizebeck: visiting Ashlack Hall, Wood Houses Tarn, Duddon Mosses National Nature Reserve, then Coal Gate Hill onto Broughton in Furness. Weather; generally sunny with high intermittent cloud, windy, very good visibility.amblerbob16/04/2013
