As Moorsman and Nickywood. Lots of dog walkers even in the rainMinto30/12/2023
Prominent sign at road end at allotments informs no RoW via allotments. Parked at Roanhead NT CP (charges apply). N along shore until just N of Roanhead Crag, where a small red sandy path leads into High Wood, keeping just S of the two tarns. Path improves and disgorges onto track at solar panel farm. N for 150m, then track E plus one gate to top. No nasty signs encountered.Isbjorn27/07/2022
If you aim for Harris Street this will take you to the start of the allotments. If you continue into them there is a forbidden parking area on the left... allotment holders only .... but 100m further along is parking for the children's play area that you can use. The track is a favourite with dog walkers and joggers. The final gate tells you that it is private land and there is no right of way but asks you to shut the gate! Continue to where the solar array starts and a track leads off to the left almost to the summit.moorsman13/05/2021
Parked on the estate street leading directly down to the Pier at Askam. Then along a track beside the allotments and sheds, round to a 'private' gate although everyone was walking dogs along there, turn left up to summit just before all the solar panels and through top gate which opens. No problem.nickywood128/12/2020

11:15 am, sunny, slight breeze, approx. 4 degrees, ground semi-frozen. Good day for a convalescence walk after nasty ear infection. Straightforward from NW via track to Roanhead Farm. Nice and coasty.Wycombe Wanderer28/01/2019
Fortified allotments! Parked at SD 2119 7681, but could have driven much further round. Another mud-fest of a sheep pasture.jonglew10/12/2018
1st of 11 tumps on a 32.2km loop from Askham-in-Furness station to Ulverston, taking the Lots road then using gate to track then over fence and up gradual grassy slope Sw then heading directly for summit knoll SE. Fairly compact summit. Similar descent continuing on Lots road heading for High Haume Beacon....Dazingdale31/03/2018
Parked to N then approached from W. Straightforward once out of the maze of allotments.mae03/06/2017
From the sea side. Frisky cattle and a bull so didn't tarry!peebs27/08/2015
From NW, obvious track then pasture. Bull in field. .. was present but not v interested. Drizzly Sun amRHW02/08/2015
The more 'diplomatic' route from the W. What appear to be cattle sheds on the skyline is the edge of a huge solar power farm. The area to S and SW of the hill is now occupied by around 30,000 solar panels, Kinetica Energy's Roanhead Farm project. Enough power for 2,000 homes they say.Aye Jimmy02/05/2015
Direct approach from N. An approach from W might be more diplomatic.jimbloomer03/12/2014
