A rare December ascent with frost on the summit. Up via the cleits and down the road, whereas I didn’t have time for a circuit in 2017. A consolation prize for the unsurprising discovery that the stacs are too green and slimy in December for mere mortal climbers and only climbable by superheroes such as Dave McG wearing microspikes the whole way. A further unsurprising discovery is that a calm sea can develop a big swell very quickly preventing landing on Stac an Armin. But Hirta was lovely.Gill203/12/2023
A counter-clockwise circuit of Kilda's Humps, Tumps and other bumps with Deana, Carol & Calum. Starting with mist, wind and rain from the campsite to Oisebhal then over to the two trigs of Conachair. Only then did the mist clear, giving clear-sight of our next objectives ... Mullach Mor, Claigeann Mor, Mullach Bi & its North Top, then the wonderfully positioned promontory of An Campar. Now reduced to just me and Calum, we contoured back around the westerly peaks to get a quick bag of Ruabhal before our boat departure deadline was breached. All easily done within the allotted 4.5 hrs and our tents packed up by our better, more sensible better-halves to boot.summitter09/09/2023

With Sea Harris, calm weather. Up concrete road to masts with fellow RHSOC members Kevin and David. Into cloud below masts, then compass bearing to bealach and on to summit. No Views. joined by 4 others. Down to trig then across to path to The Gap and back to village. Tour of Boreray and stacs, a great day and Butty Bus was open on return.Coinneach10/09/2022
To Hirta from Leverburgh with https://www.kildacruises.co.uk, walked paved track from village up to the masts on Mullach Mòr, then across col and up to Conachair, descended SE to The Gap, then SW back to village (ca 2hr). With JAS.kdbennett29/08/2022

Last morning of a visit to Hirta on yacht Zuza (an afternoon, full day and a morning). Cloud mostly down but initially clear today. Got Mullach Mor (via track) clear but cloud moving in to cover top of Conachair, carried on to Oisebhal, also now in cloud. Return via An Lag.clashcityrocker16/07/2021
RHSoc trip with Sea Harris. From Mullach Mor. Descended to the boggy col, in 10m visibility, followed by a stiff pull to the summit. No views today. To descend, returned to Mullach Mor and took the military road back down to the village.Man of Kernow122/09/2019
Once the rain had stopped, up the road to the masts and across to summit seconds before the mist rolled in so very lucky to get the view over to Boreray and the stacks.NB there is no discernable path from road end to summit despite what I read somewhere and today was pretty boggy. Straight down easy ground back to village.AndrewFinnimore22/09/2019
Day visit to St Kilda with Sea Harris- highly recommended. With 5h on the island, I did the circuit of Oiseval, this and Mullach Mor which left plenty of time to explore the village and see the St Kilda Wren. Steep, easy grass slopes with trodden tracks (sheep and humans). From The Gap, it was best to keep near as I dared to the precipitous cliffs- a more direct route would have been steeper, and involved walking nearer the bonxies. Clear- sunny at first, clouding over with a base well above the summits later.pwheeler12/05/2019

Repeat ascent, this time including clockwise round of Hirta's humps, from Village Bay. This time the summit was just above the cloud base but the sun made intermittent appearances through the mist.Topographer5716/09/2015
Sailed out of Leverburgh on Enchanted Isle for three day Kilda trip. Weather too rough to land Boreray so into Village Bay to pitch tents then wander around island. With Jenx, Martin and Pete M. >Oiseval >Conachair >Mullach Mor >Clageann Mor >Mullach Bi >Mullach Bi North Top and back to village, great circuit, clear views to Soay and Boreray.nordicstar16/09/2015

Garry and I set foot on Hirta from Uig, Skye on a stunning clear day and headed straight to Conachair .Awesome trip ..a storm prevented our departure on the 3rd ..a day of persistent rain & poor visability. We were then fortunate to stay on at the camp site and explore the Island..from 1st - 6th Aug .. Unforgettable!!!Grey Hare01/08/2014
fabulous circuit wander in calm almost windless day over Hirta with Martin Richardson, on my first visit to St Kilda. Along village street, up the winding road to the west over Claigeann Mor to Mullach Bi and NW out to An Campar then east down across the valley and up to Mullach Mor across to Conachair down south to the trig and round by cliffs out to Oisebhal and back to the village. Start of 3 day visit to this region courtesy of Seaharris (arranged by Alan Holmes). A fine afternoon of walking the ridges.Smudge26/09/2013
Lady Luck was certainly on my side for this island visit. Not only did I get out there on my first attempt, but also had mirror flat seas and wall to wall blue skies into the bargain.Alex C25/05/2012
From village (12:30) through lovely valley with arctic skuas to gap - huge cliffs - and then steeply NW to top. Buzzed by great skuas (up to 5 at a time) especially on descent. Golden plovers on road near mastdbb29/06/2011

Transport by Kilda Cruises. Spectacular topography. World Heritage village desecrated by modern military eyesores. Ascent via NE ridge, aggressive dive bombing skuas. Continued over Mullach Mor.Topographer5731/05/2010
