From Smearsett Scar. Through gate at 802675. Up steeply by wall than flat to indistinct summit. Returned to Stainforth via Dead Man's Cave, gate at 800672 to join 'A Pennine Journey' to Stackhouse, then along Ribble Way. KeithByTheC02/01/2024

Feizor Thwaite and Smearsett Scar from the CP at Stainforth. Wandered around much of the high ground on Feizor Thwaite in addition to the spot where my gps beeped to make sure.summitsup08/03/2022
Settle, over to Feizor cafe for large breakfast, then sluggishly up Feizor Thwaite past Celtic Wall and across to Smearsett.Flatfield04/01/2022
On return from Smearsett Scar. Left Dales High Way at wall leading S.peter4lc03/12/2021
Parked immediately west of bridge between Stainforth and Little Stainforth. Bridge exceptionally narrow. Parking for three cars although by the time I returned I was practically blocked in by five cars. Fine limestone scenery although summit is disappointing.Campbell Singer05/08/2021
Easterly ROW from Feizor, planning Smearsett Scar but as it was late postponed that for the morning and diverted to Feizor Thwaite. Path up from field extension at SD 799876, becomes indeterminate on plateau, so summit is best guess, aided by GPS.henryfm29/06/2021
Visited Smearsett Scar and Feizor Thwaite on a circular walk from Settle via Giggleswick Scar, Feizor, Little Stainforth and back by the Ribble. With Christine, Eric, Geoff and Steve. 18km with 540m ascent in 6 hours.silveracorn_alan24/06/2021

Parked at the excellent 'Knights Table Cafe Bar & Restaurant' in Little Stainforth & up Smearsett Scar. From Smearsett Scar, back down path alongside wall, over the High Dales Way & across to the padlocked farm gate - Over gate & then a short steep climb before heading across to the small summit cairn & alternative top. Parked in the layby on the B6480, at the start of Brunton Road. Walked to Feizor and followed the Dales High Way. An open gate gave access to the open hill and it was a short walk to the summit. Walk continued to Smearsett Scar.Sprog05/10/2019
Solo from P & D car park in Stainforth. Circular route taking in Smearsett Scar and Feizor Thwaite. I tried but failed to locate the small cairn marking Feizor Thwaite's summit. My trusty OS app showed me at the summit, so it's a bag!ADT23/08/2019

Parking at Little Stainforth very difficult due to yellow lines. However, there is a wonderful cafe there which will permit parking for customers. Alt 220m. Pot of tea and a cream cake for under 4 pound. Path leads alongside farm and through a gate. It then carries straight on at the bend across the pasture. All walls crossed by stiles so you know if you are on the correct route. 4.77 km return to include Smearsett Scar. 90 minutes.moorsman18/02/2017
Great limestone scenery on a sunny October day up and down different paths from the hamlet of Feizor. The hill was the objective of our 15 km walk along little used footpaths with L from the door of our pet sitting cottage at Eldroth on the Bowland Fells to the south (after I had mucked out Jazz the horse!)Chris Pearson23/10/2016
Parked in cafe cp at Feizor. Up past Dead Man's cave. Summit a bit indeterminate. Down to col then up Smearsett Scar. Pot of tea & huge piece of cake at cafe after.ngthack13/07/2016
Parked on roadside NW of Brunton House and followed footpath to Feizor. Nice walk from Feizor along the Dales High Way to the grass-covered limestone summit. With Eire, Evan, Sail, Danu, Coel & Alfie.Dangerous Dave02/05/2016
From ssw, big layby, bridleway, gate wsw of summit, another on skyline accesses summit field, hp 200m s of cairn another possible contender. Cold drizzly ascent for my final Section 35 tump. Good choice of hill in a fine limestone landscape. Ingleborough a familiar shape to NE.RHW01/04/2016
Parked at Buckhaw Brow and then used the paths and common sence to bag the likely summits without any major wall crossings.Dugswell204/09/2015
From Little Stainforth. Park up the road towards the track by farm.jimbloomer25/08/2015
Layby near top of Buckhaw Brow opposite a garage. Started up track but must have gone wrong because ended up climbing a lot of walls and fences. Also visited Dead Man's Cave. Small cairn on a 'summit', but summit could be one of several places.Aye Jimmy06/04/2014
Circular walk from top of Buckhaw Brow but including diversion to avoid cows on path.Fabulous views from top on clear sunny day. Then back via Schoolboys'Cairn. With Oscar.catman03/03/2014
