1 of 2 on 6 mile walk starting at cold stones cut car park with Cody and Tommy. Followed the track down past the old abandon farm building which we explored and onto the nidderdale way before reaching base of hill and up over rough heathery ground. Scorching weather for itThe-Z-Man13/05/2023

1 of 6: Parked in the layby opposite the quarry entrance, just east of Greenhow. Down the lane then the track. The start is higher than the hill. With Karen.ChrisR21/04/2022

Parked up on the B road, and walked downhill on the tarmac lane, through two gate then headed off to the right over access land, down to a bridge meeting the Nidderdale Way, and found a way up to the summit. On the way back we followed the Nidderdale Way again, but the longer track back round the valley to reach the car. The hardest bit was back up to the car! Nice enough summit, about 1 hour.nickywood119/08/2021

From Pateley Bridge along Nidderdale Way, turning right just below mine shaft and through bracken to summit. Boisterous cattle on descent but stood by as I passed.peter4lc19/05/2021
A circular walk along the Nidderdale Way from the car park in Pateley Bridge with Annette. Small diversion off the Nidderdale Way to bag Nabs, with good local views. 14.2km with 140m ascent in 4h30m for the whole route which included Providence Mines, Gowthwaite Resr and a plaesant walk back along the R Nidd to Pateley.silveracorn_alan02/12/2020

£1.20 for 4hours in the riverside car park at Bewerley Park. Circular route, mostly on the Nidderdale Way and back through large static caravan site to Pateley Bridge. With Alfie.Dangerous Dave17/12/2019
16.00 one and a half miles up white road and half mile up dirt track. Convenient pull in for three cars, just below a mere 35m.-ish of accent. Just getting my boots and coat on and middle aged lady drives up, winds down window and in polite enquiring tone says, 'Are you lost' Sort of anticipating I might be about to be told off by a GOML, I answer brightly. Do I look lost then?'. `well when a car is this far up the track, they're usually lost' 'Ah, okay, well I'm just going for a quick walk up this hill and then I'm away. It's a minor hill on a list of N Yorkshire Hill summits' 'Hill..! She withered,' more like a slag heap. Be careful as there's a deep mine shaft up there and some of the fencing round it may be broken.'.' Okay, thanks for the advice. I'll beware ' The mineshaft wasn't far above me and the square of wooden fence and barbed wire plus warning sign was pretty intact and clear. I picked up a rock to lob into the hole. Over 3-4 seconds I heard it bounce 16 times as it bouncevegibagger19/11/2019

With Jo, from Toft Gate cp: out across Green Moor to Brandstone Dub Bridge to top and nearby OS benchmark on boulder. Returning along tracks past Near Hardcastle. Visited The Coldstones Cut afterwards. Weather; sunny, windy, good visibility.amblerbob14/05/2017
From S. On arrival there was a shoot. Went to the Toft Gate cafe. On return they'd gone for lunch. 60 mins in pouring rain. On way back the toffs passed in their Evokes with 3 character number plates, driven by chauffeurs wearing dinner suits. Bring on the revolution!jimbloomer07/10/2016
From s, moorsman's down and up route. Shortcut unfenced land, boulder hopped beck, gate to open hill. Summit anticlimax of wiry recently burnt heather. Back at dusk via main track failing to find either of the osbms en route. First daylight after work hill of the year. Working on the last few tumps in N YorkshireRHW31/03/2016
Parking just before or just after the gate marking the end of the tarmac road running north from opposite the quarry at Greenhow Hill (alt 1177ft). The public road does continue to the mines and is perfectly drivable. Walk down the road but ignore the first black dotted path (walls to cross, instead take the path immediately before the sheepfolds heading north to Brandstone Dub bridge. Pick up the main track and, at the fenced off shaft head straight upwards. 2.16 miles, 75 minutes with a total ascent of 511 ft.moorsman21/10/2015

From the NE, parked at end of extensive caravan sites. Followed N bank of river for 425m, crossed it via fallen tree. Up through wood then heather and bracken slopes (may be an ordeal in summer) to gap in wall. Deep heather on top and lonely grass patch.Aye Jimmy13/03/2014
Parked to the east of the church in Greenhow. Used footpaths to get to Near Hardcastle and then onto the very flat heathery top of Nabs on a cool blue November morning.Dugswell225/11/2013
