The trig still exists if you look for it, but...Matt30/07/2023

From layby to west, along road and across fields. Would not recommend.Wycombe Wanderer27/08/2022
Parked in the lane to Boldron. Crossed the A66. Friday afternoon and very busy.. Paths from east are unmarked. Ended up going through pleasant woodland to south before scrambling up small limestone scarp. Badly cut thumb due to falling lump of rock.Campbell Singer07/08/2020

Parked in entrance to farm to E of hill. Followed RoW E then S to new build farm house. Immediately after this took stile and followed faint track through woods and into fields. No sign of trig.Wheelsy05/01/2020
With Jenx from the gate entrance before West bound layby on A66. Shame to see the nely cleared area and the trig missing. Looking like the area about to be significantly mined by the drilled shot holes. Covered current high point and the likely new one by the gate to SE outside current quarry boundarynordicstar24/02/2019
Poor hill. Won't be there much longer I think. Nice craggy feature to the south side.jenx24/02/2019
From NZ 0185 1372. RoW through the farm not marked or obvious. Ground at summit has been scrapped level and a new bank created above the quarry from the soil, that is now higher than the HP. Unsure what will become of this area but it's future looks uncertain. The trig pillar has gone. Walked back down through the quarry casting about for it, but no sign.jonglew31/12/2018
Everything changed! Surface soil and trig removed prior to quarrying. This has been formed into a bank which is a new, unnatural, high point. Parked by A66 on the Boldron Rd.jimbloomer29/06/2018
Hp is just by Trig on domed sheep field ( lots of rabbits too) Accessed via RsoW near quarry off A 66. Aerial at edge of field is lower.Lovely views of snow dusted hills on a clear sunny cold day. very pleasant break in journey north to Teesdale.Denise 02/02/2018
Park on Boldron road then across A66, past buildings and house to gain quiet field paths W before climbing N over grass to top of limestone edge and summit trig in pasture. Good viewsRichardM02/02/2018
With Jo, from lay-by on A66. Anticlockwise on clear path outside quarry fence to field with trig. Access gained through easily opened gate. Returned by continuing down field to double gate in corner for a short walk west along A66 back to start. Weather; sunny, cool breeze, good visibility.amblerbob19/11/2017
Ran from Barney up past Boldron and onto this surprisingly open summit and trigpoint before running round the quarry edge and back down to Barney through Deepdale Wood.madaddo19/11/2017
With Linda. Parked at and walked in through Kilmond Woods. FP and FP signage poor. No access problems.John Lee07/10/2017

400M from road. Long way round back of quarry. 2.5km. Should have just trespassed in field.Martin R27/02/2017
Parked in layby A66 to North. Couldn't see last visit but this time ventured to Quarry rim, huge extension to quarry, this Tump probablt threatened in time, and trig. Still great views, for now¬nordicstar18/01/2017
Dash up en route to bagging few more repeats in 2016nordicstar05/12/2016
Squeezed in between lorries at lay by. Along knife edge ridge between quarry & scars. Fight through blackthorn in places. Path only used by hill baggers apparently.ngthack25/10/2016
Same route as others round the back of the quarry from layby on the A66. The footpath is now getting very overgrown but is passable. Signs suggest a future further expansion of the quarry east, so the Trig Point's days may be numbered!Fisky Boy18/09/2016

From A66 lay-by followed access road to cattle grid then alongside wall and fence to summit field.Bramley28/08/2016
Solo. Path overgrown with nettles but no access problems. Surprisingly pleasant!Dangerous Dave02/07/2016
As Aye Jimmy. Quarry not working late Saturday afternoon. Route would be OK even if quarry was working.Minto30/04/2016
Parked in Boldron. 1.5mi to the top via Kilmond Wood. Sunday - no access problems from quarry.Moorponder09/04/2016
large layby on South side of A66just before Kilmond Quarry entrance. They own the tarmac lane running west towards Bowes Cross Farm and were happy for me to walk along it, thus avoiding the A66. At the fence you can cut across the field to join the footpath. Not a very pleasant midweek walk!moorsman05/12/2014
Large layby on A66, short walk E to lane entrance leading to stile. Kept outside of fence, followed LH side of quarry round to f/p and gate into trig field. Trig FB S4305. Quarry not working today (Sunday).Aye Jimmy09/11/2014
Across the fields from SEpeebs30/10/2013
From layby on A66 at NZ 02352 13695. Walked short distance to tarmac lane, followed this to public footpath along edge of quarry. Climbed easy metal gate to access summit trig pillar.David Gradwell30/10/2013
