10:30am. 14 degrees, overcast, northish breeze, with Bag For Life. Bloated from comfort eating and drinking after yesterday's match (we weren't as bad as 3-1 suggests, in spite of what the Mackems like to think). Anyway, this dinky hill cheered us up a bit. Had a little scramble, guessed correctly that Penshaw hill was our next hill and wondered what on Earth stood atop it. Must remember to bring my household rubbish to dump along the bridleway.Wycombe Wanderer29/08/2021

The small road leading north towards the hill is a public road with parking below the hill itself. From here it is a three minute climb up but a little longer down if you wish to avoid the steep descentmoorsman05/09/2020

Walked to hill from Sunderland rail station. Super little hill - good summit views which include the distant Cheviot, Penshaw Hill, the sea, etc. A nice little limestone crag provides some play. My third visit.ger30/10/2019

Parked in residential street to west and walked to this local nature reserve in cold gusty winds to rocky limestone outcrop , accessed by easy scramble. Trig on top. Superb views in dramatic evening light of coast, urban Sunderland and impressive Penshaw monument. Also visited Maiden paps, lower.Denise 16/03/2019
From the bridleway, rocky path to grassy summit with trig. Back over the Maiden Paps. A great view point with grey seas out to the E and dramatic skies to the W.RichardM16/03/2019

Did this one and the other prominent hill. Take some decent footwear - the direct scramble (and alternative route back down) is short but up slippery rocks, many of them polished. Felt much more precarious than it should have, but then I do need new boots...the_adam25/10/2016
