From large parking area alongside bales of silage to ENE, NW along road to sharp right-hand bend - Turn left & through adjacent gates at start of track - SSE along E. side of hedge to edge of plantation & over collapsed wall at SD 61623 71933 - Up through trees to open wire mesh gate & collapsed cairn.gerrybowes13/01/2024
Up the pasture. There is a stile into the wooded area from the back side and a gate into the inner summit area which seems to be a pheasant raising area. There Is a wire at ankle level going through that gate. Didn't feel like I would be welcome if anybody was there so made it brief.clivevilla13/09/2023
Easy parking in Wrayon. Most verges have large stones to stop access but there is a high wall close to the right angled bend with plenty of space to park up easily. Pick the (correct) south running footpath as far as the stile through the second fence then head directly upwards scaling one easy wire fence. Top inside another fence but broken wall gives access from the other side.moorsman19/04/2023
Parked on corner at SD 61521 72119: Gate at SD 61511 72091 into field: Tumbledown stone wall at SD 61623 71933 takes you into copse at the topDC11main15/02/2023
A trip down the wide rural Lune Valley. Fp then field to copse from the hamlet of Wrayton. Settlements are thinly spread alongside the Lune -so are often combined into parishes -here it's Melling with Wrayton. My favourite is Burrow with Burrow which is comically signed as such on the main road -which could only happen in England as Biil Bryson would probably agree. ( The parish combines Over Burrow & Nether Burrow so I guess the alternative was Over with Nether! ). The meandering River Greta swings below the N foot of the hill - having had its excitement earlier in its journey rushing down the famous waterfalls of Ingleton Glens. Counter-intuitively the mean water speed here is theoretically quicker than upstream -as here the water is deeper and the river wider with a smoother channel profile so less friction and turbulence. Still doesn't seem right though!Chris Pearson17/05/2022
Through a gate adjacent to summit, quick nip over field, over broken wall into the pheasant enclosure. Five minutes.nickywood124/07/2021

Parked at bend in road, room for 1 car without blocking the gate (SD 6152 7213). Nice little copse on hill summit with old pheasant nursery within.jonglew01/10/2020
Parked at the left hand bend to the east of Wrayton. One bwf before the one at the summit copse. Pheasant pen gate open. No sign of any pheasants. All shot by now?Campbell Singer19/01/2020

Parked on the verge next to the bus stop on the main road and walked through the village, beware the young cattle at this time of yearbardolph19/06/2017
As Aye Jimmy. High point is in small fenced off compound with easy to open gate.David Gradwell09/03/2017
Wrayton a hidden (and expensive looking) hamlet typical of these parts. Took wrong path and climbed hill to west of Catgill barn, from which Bull Bank looks lower. Of course looking back the other way the first hill looks lower. Watched the moonrise above the summit plantation.Wycombe Wanderer16/07/2016
Bird of prey trap next to pheasantry in copse. Not so pleasant.ngthack09/05/2016
From nnw, ne summit in pheasant pen open at this time of year. Then to s and sw summits as such nice scenery. Snow clad Ingleborough a ghostly apparition at dusk. My final Lancs p30, after a superb winter ascent of Helvellyn.RHW06/03/2016
From Wrayton via the RoW. Parked cheekily. Did all 3 summits. The NE one is highest.jimbloomer18/09/2015
Parked at gate at sharp bend to NNW of hill at SD 6151 7212. Through gate, then another to L and up field to pheasant copse at top of hill. Banking at NE end of copse seemed highest spot.Aye Jimmy04/09/2014
A pleasant pheasantry in the copse on the summit. Parked beside silage store near Bull Bank Farm then walked up the road, through gate into silage field which will soon be ready to cut.Dugswell220/08/2014
