From church in Earl Sterndale using ROW. Where ROW turns right you can just continue straight up for a short cut, no fences in the way. Great views of the quarry, if you like that sort of thing. With the boys. About 112m ascent.RoguePulsar22/05/2021
Path up to the top can see quarry clearly not hard went with Dad and Ptolemy.speedyclimber22/05/2021

Large parking area alongside minor road to W. at SK 0897 6748 - Down road for about 40m, up concrete steps through rockery, over stile & up RoW to pedestrian gate in field corner at 091678 - Through gate & SE along track to the high point which lies just the other side of the 6ft high BWF. Parked by road to south in ex quarry at 08989 67457. The FP has a finger post but it starts with concrete steps and looks like it is part of somebody's garden. Steeply up pasture with uninterested cattle to track. The first of the two bwf's at the summit is six feet high but, luckily, it is quite tight so not a problem.clivevilla28/10/2020
From High Wheeldon. Starting to rain. On to Hind Low.Wycombe Wanderer29/08/2020
With the 3 girls. Nice dry, but generally grey day. 18Km round of ten with a bit of running.davechaffey20/06/2020
2nd visit - to get photos for the Hb Eds of the P30+ spoil heap in the middle of the out of bounds active Hindlow Quarry - discovered on the JNSA sweep. Thankfully although big its crumbly/semi-vegetated state means it does not count yet and it may well change as the quarry works develops. Check again in 5 years?Chris Pearson01/06/2020
Parked at Earl Sterndale and headed up from there.Wheelsy01/03/2020

Parked on roadside grass approx SK 0496 6939. 6°C AVG, 7 km/h AVG, overcast. Entered concrete bunker on High Edge which provided 3 great framed views. I was unaware of the water res. underneath Upper Edge, John boldly started to walk across fibreglass roof & hurriedly ran off with at the loud sound of cracking.Rotorslap03/12/2016
Good parking adjacent to start of fp opposite Jericho Farm. Fp starts in beautifully kept garden. Owner has built attractive steps through a rockery. Steeply upwards and onto track along the edge of well fenced huge quarry.Campbell Singer11/10/2016
There is now a new 6 foot high barbed wire fence running all the way along by the side of the track so the broken wall with cairn is now, to say the least, difficult to get to!Alan Caine05/08/2016

Along the track from road, heavily eroded by the variious groups of bikers speeding past... Third summit of the day, fine views of the whole Upper Dove Valley. Walked out onto the big spoil heap too in case it was higher (it wasn't).DanHolme16/02/2014
Parked in Earl Sterndale opposite the Quiet Woman at SK 09046 66992. A fabulous Peak District walk taking in some fine shapely hills. Hitter Hill - Parkhouse Hill - Chrome Hill - Parkhouse Hill N Top - Brier Low - High Wheeldon.David Gradwell26/06/2011
Up from Earl Sterndale. What would have been a fine hill half destroyed by the quarry. Quite sad.Jake99405/10/2005
