Parked on verge to NE near start of p/f SK280934 | David Evans | 10/02/2019 |
Just to the right of Sheffield University building and in getting of reservoir. If you try to short circuit the diagonal ROW from the north by climbing the gate and walking direct along the tarmac road, you'll be told of if seen. | vegibagger | 05/01/2019 |
From lay-by along FP to trig and HP | PeterD | 17/06/2018 |
From layby on Delf Road. Pointless. | RedAndy54 | 10/03/2018 |
Walked up from Oughtibridge, then down again and on up to Wharncliffe Chase | IanHHill | 06/12/2017 |
From the ne. Friendly horse seemed to find my anorak very tasty. The flat summit area is spoiled by Sheffield Universty Department of Environmental Sciences and the water authority. | Campbell Singer | 13/11/2017 |

2nd hill of five today with Lexi Rue my partners Labradoodle. We climbed Lodge Moor then took Stake Hill road, West Shaw lane, go below Shepherds height, dropping into Hoar Stones lane and then Mill Lee road into Low Bradfield. After a drink and cake at the old schoolrooms we took the Sheffield country walk to High Bradfield and then continued on a footpath climbing Kirk edge over Delf road and now in pouring road to the field adjacent to the trig. A gap in the fence allows access. I climbed over the gate and walked upto the covered reservoir while Lexi looked on forlornly. We continued on a fp heading Me through a nice copse of Beech to reach Lumb lane. | Dazingdale | 25/06/2016 |
From the west with my daughter. | victimofmathema | 09/04/2016 |
Parked to the NE and used the footpath to get near the trig to bag summit and top of covered reservoir. | Dugswell2 | 02/04/2016 |
With Dugswell. Area was a bit tidier than earlier visitors have indicated. The University building containing large glass panels looked rather strange in this setting. | Smudge | 02/04/2016 |
Bagged this one on a walk from More hall to Bradfield with a return via Rocher edge and White Lee moor.Lovely view towards the peak dis.trict from up there | steven ruffles | 09/02/2016 |
From NE - simple walk mainly on path over several stiles. | RobertP | 10/01/2016 |
Wide verge giving easy parking at start of footpath to west (alt 1217ft) . After the second stile (a ladder stile) turn sharp right and squeeze through a gap in the fencing where it meets the wall. You can then walk alongside the fence, meeting the road to the university compound. The other side of the fence leaves you an awkward fence to climb. 0.61 miles, about 20 minutes return. | moorsman | 15/12/2015 |
Parked car on roadside at start of footpath across fields and went up a back. Top on a Sheffield Uni Geography dept site so don't bother asking homeowner at side of access track for permission. | BobHancock | 30/09/2015 |
From fields to NE, then up drive past University of Sheffield building. | Wheelsy | 05/09/2015 |
Easy stroll from road . Expansive views. | Mark Sims | 23/07/2015 |
Same route as Aye Jimmy | Bramley | 06/03/2015 |
From West. Adrian beat me to this one by 4 days. | ngthack | 18/12/2014 |
Walked along water board access road to what they call Kirk Edge (not Edge Mount). Very interesting summit area with abandoned equipment in U of Sheff Geography area. | Adrian | 14/12/2014 |
Parked near crossroads to NE, diagonal path with numerous stiles. Very cluttered summit - trig, covered reservoir, comms, shed, couple of old parabolic dishes pointing to sky. Plus scrap metal. | Aye Jimmy | 23/04/2014 |
Pleasant footpath and stiles from NE: Trig inside Sheffield Univ radio site, but 3m lower than a bank. | GordonAdshead | 16/04/2014 |
From small parking area to SW at SK 27445 92766. Walked north along road to public ROW. Not much evidence of path but obvious stile at top of slope. Over stile turned right, through dilapidated fence to trig point which is the highest natural point (395m). The 398m spot height is slightly pointless as it's directly on top of man-made covered reservoir which we didn't visit even though it would have been easy enough to climb over the gate. | David Gradwell | 02/02/2014 |
What I call a bus-pass day i.e. bag a new hill by using free public transport. Took nine buses to get to Oughtibridge and back home. The walk up was through pleasant woods and muddy fields. Lazy people could grab this one quickly by ignoring the private sign on the gate and using the track. Curious remains of comms dishes nearby the summit trig. | Martin R | 21/01/2014 |
In a blizzard | lenman | 20/12/2009 |
Climbed quite a few times from Lower Bradfield. Stunning views up the dale to Back Tor. | Jake994 | 04/12/2004 |
dull summit, pleasant view W. via track to north | RHW | 16/02/2002 |
Following my visit I set a question about the summit here on a birthday treasure hunt I organised.Good to see everyone having to get out of their cars and use their legs in trudging / rushing to the top and back clutching their clue sheet. A busy day for this top. | Chris Pearson | 06/07/1994 |
