Easy parking by start of bridleway to N. - SW for about 100m & then SE along bridleway to stile into access land - Immediate right & up decent path through heather to trig point. Good viewpoint.gerrybowes10/01/2024
With the nights drawing in I picked a short walk for my evening hill this week. I attempted to access from the bridleway to the south, farm machinery blocking the way and then couldn't see the way past the obnoxious new extensions and parking area at the next farm so dropped back to the road and came up from the footpath to the west. No problems that way, a peaceful summit but not a very nice area.meltdiceburg09/10/2023
7.2 mile run from Coal Gate Road up Manshead to Crow Hill. No bull around just sheep! Traversing the farm machinery blocking the FP was interesting but great hills and viewsJohn Eley27/08/2022

1st of 5 hills today, starting from Mytholmroyd station, climbing South up Stake Lane, branching off on fp continuing South then SE over marshy ground to join track past Quarry at Nab end, E then South past Far Moorside farm, cutting across access land on Aaron Hill to join fp onto Higher Stones road (abandoned caravan in the woods). Followed Water Stall road before branching off on fp past several gates Se to edge of access land and then upto Summit. Descended on bearing to a gate and then Sw to track bordering access land before joining with Calderdale way near Water Stalls road, continuing on to Great Manshead Hill. No Bull in sight or on site today!Dazingdale11/03/2017
Parked near the beginning of the farm track at SE 01832 23342 and took it south along the cattle-churned track and up on rough moorland to the summit. Returned the same way. With AT and JT.Man of Kernow126/02/2017

The shortest time I have ever spent on the summit of a hill due a ruddy great Highland Bull fast approaching! Easy parking north at the access road to Pitts Farm (alt 1152ft). Follow the tarmac road SW for 100m then turn south SE towards the hill. When reaching the open access it is possible to cut straight up ... but I wouldn't recommend it. This is the domain of a rather large Highland bull who, on seeing interlopers decides to investigate. Shortcutting leaves no room for escape. Take the path shown on the map which gives an easy escape downwards and over a fence should you feel threatened. 0.75 miles return, 193 ft ascent 20 mins or,in my case, a whole lot less!moorsman05/11/2016
There was a bull lying by the trig - got as close as I could and to full height. Also vicious dogs in small holding on way up. From south.Mark Sims07/09/2016

Parked at spacious track entrance at SE 01835 23355. Took track/right of way and soon turned left at junction. Bad section of diabolical mud and lime on bridleway. Overcame this on return by keeping to edge of field on other side of fence at side of track. Trig pillar on highest point.David Gradwell12/01/2014
