A 2h chat /circular walk with John & Becks from the (now paying) car park. Good to catch up on a windy but dry morning before the forecast rain came in. 2nd visit, during our cat sit at nearby Parwich.Chris Pearson21/01/2024

As RoguePulsar. On own. Big clear up operation in progress following festival. Great views on walk up to summit although at summit area trees obscure any distant views.Beeliner11/08/2023
From Minninglow CP along High Peak Trail then divert left on the concessionary path (not marked on OS maps) to summit area. Co-incided with the Y Not festival so there were literally thousands of people camped out on the fields near the CP! Nice area. With Felix and Evie.RoguePulsar29/07/2023
Parked at car park and then went down a path which went on a viaduct in between two fields where a festival was happening, continued down the path for no more than a mile then went left off the path up a hill where there was a circle of trees in those was the top. With whole family but Dad and Evie did tump.speedyclimber29/07/2023

Minninglow and aleck from minninglow car park. First to minninglow, then back past the car and easy up and down aleck. Muck recently spread on field, so smelling pretty ripe, but no problems. 1hr 30 return, but pretty pacey to get back for paddling!Nicky C06/04/2023
Parked among some trailers at 22503 56226 up the road east and then pastures to Slipper Low before coming back, going north on the other road and then row to due west of summit of Minninglow Hill from where there is a permissive path. Very interesting Neolithic tomb on summit mound.clivevilla09/11/2022

wow, what an atmospheric place, i wouldn't want to be here at night! Parked at Minninglow car park and walked along the High Peak Trail and permissive path to reach summitdazedemon19/09/2020
A circular walk from Elton, via the Green Low burial chamber. Initially freezing cold and grey, by the time we got to Minninglow the sun was shining and it was glorious afternoon. I've wanted to come here for 20+ years, delighted to have finally made it. We had the site to ourselves for the whole visit. After reluctantly saying goodbye, we headed west down the permissive path, before following Gratton Dale back to Elton. A terrific day.thesweetcheat18/09/2020

Followed the concession footpath from the High Peak Trail by the quarry on the High Peak Trail. Very atmospheric summit, especially on a hot and sunny day like today. Took the other concession footpath SE onto the BOAT.Wheelsy07/05/2018
Parked in Minninglow car park to the north (alt 323m). Very fast walk along the totally flat High Peak trail as far as the concessionary footpath which starts at 20552 57577. This leads straight up to the summit. Access is gained through bridlegates. 4.1km return. 50 Minutes. 95m ascent.moorsman10/03/2018
Great Hill with a good few burial sites around the summit. Just over 4 km walk after parking to the NW in 42 minutes. I will be back again on a warm summer day.Dugswell212/01/2018

Making the best of a foul day. Ran up from the High Peak trail. I have no idea why I haven't been up this hill before, it's almost on the doorstep. The chambered cairn is brilliant.Gill15/01/2017
Along the High Peak Trail from large car park to new of hill. Bike would have been useful. Amazing structures on the disused railway line. Interesting summit.Campbell Singer26/09/2016
Took the dog, Smudge here today. A very interesting summit.Clachaig08/12/2015
Very unusual and atmospheric summit with tumulus surrounded by trees and a wall . From permissive path off High Peak Trail to south.Mark Sims14/11/2015
Jogged along the flat High Peak Trail from Pikehall car park across the impressive railway embankments to the distinctive clump of trees crowning the hill with its round barrow containing Neolithic stone burial chambers (which you can see). In the fields alongside, the clean up operation was underway following the 'Y Not' annual music festival (quite a few abandoned popup tents sticking out of a skip!). Sadly (?) I was a day too late to hear the likes of Snoop Dog , Basement Janx, and Primal Scream blasting out from the main stage. Had to make do with just the skylarks singing.Chris Pearson10/08/2015
Certainly not the most challenging walk, but a very special placeMypoorblisters24/05/2015
Bagged as part of a circular family walk from car park to northwest. Also shinned up Roystone Rocks on way back. Roystone Rocks looks Tumpish on the map but doesn't have the required drop.David Gradwell30/03/2015
From large car-park to NW. Old Victorian railway then f/p to copse on summit and tumulus. Area of great interest from point of view of neolithic archaeology through to industrial archaeology.Aye Jimmy10/02/2015
From Wirksworth along the High Peak trail, with the White Peak Marathon running at me (!), and after 6 or so miles up the concessionary footpath from the trail to the stones at the top of this wonderful archaeological site. Kudos to whoever owns it for making it so accesible!DanHolme18/05/2013
Used permissive path from Pennine Bridleway on my first leg of the trail. Found it to be quite an atmospheric place that the trees did not detract from. This trail provides many opportunities for bagging minor tops that can really add to the mileage. I also went up Harboro rocks on the same walk.Dazingdale02/03/2013
